Best Place for a Base?

This may help some of you that are new to the game, or struggling.

I've tried many locations for a base even having bases all over the map, but this one is the best I have come across.

At the start of your save, go to the abandoned village at 46w-26s. I used this as a base for several days as Capybara often just stroll into the camp and make themselves an easy kill. But, you often get tribesmen very closeby and also a Jaguar, so I built my own camp to the rear of the village (amongst the palm and banana trees). This is pretty central on the map which makes it easy to explore and return to your base in a single day. There are Capybara (already mentioned) that are the best food source for fats and protein, bananas, mushrooms and fruit nearby.

If you struggle to get your shelter and fire down on the first day, just use the hammock and fire pit in the village until you are done.

I have now been here for 28 days with no problems at all and consider it one of the best places for a base until of course, the map gets extended in a future update.

I forgot to add: You can place a shelter down with a leaf bed inside, then place your fire close to the bed and it won't go out in the rain.

At 48-W, 26-S there is a little gem of a place. It's a shelf on the cliff side about 20-30 feet above the little creek on the eastern side of the creek, close to the drug den. It has enough flat ground for a medium sized base. I've found it to be VERY SAFE with a gorgeous view of the surrounding jungle. Only way to get to the shelf is to walk through the creek or over fallen logs and the human/animal AI isn't programmed to walk through to patrol that cliff/creek area or walk on fallen logs. Since it has cliffs on 3 sides it is extremely easy to defend with traps. If you were being chased you can hop on one of the fallen logs and easily snipe down your enemies, or jump off one of the surrounding cliffs and bug the AI out. Only thing I've had to deal with on the shelf and ramp is a random wandering spider spawning at the ramp leading up to the shelf that respawns every 4-5 in-game days.

It has bamboo just a 10-15 second run away near the drug lab, the creek below the cliff for prawn/fish/mud/water filtering. It has big trees on the shelf that constantly drop sticks. A honey tree directly under the cliff that spawns bee hives commonly enough. It also has 2 respawning bandage plants right next to the clear flat area you'll build on. Putting a killer trap or two in the dry creek bed opposite side of the creek (West-side) catches food at least daily. This place has more or less everything you need within a short walking distance if it isn't already on the shelf or the ramp leading to it.

Like I said in the first paragraph, it is simple a beautiful spot. Your elevated cliff side view grants you a breathtaking view to the west (especially at night), plus the creek has a small waterfall directly under the flat clear area adding a soothing running water audio when you go to the western edge of your cliff.

Currently in survival mode "Green Hell" difficulty day 89 with no attacks in base (spawned or otherwise) from natives nor animals (Besides that one spider every 3-5 in-game days).

I build my base in that small docking side on 51W 19S.
What is on +?
- Big river with lots of peacock bass (you can catch them easy on rod with unknown mushroom 1)
- lots of space for fish traps
- on this side of river normal trees on another bamboo forest
- easy walk to another side (there is some trees on water and you dont need to swim there and you can just walk save)
- in the forest there are capibaras and close to that dock 1 armadillo almost all of the time
- if you need beds there are 3 in that dock as well as 1 Four Pronged Spear if you need it to fight or fishing
- lots of food like banana trees, nuts trees and coconut trees
- lots of usful plants like Molineria
- no jaguars
- on both sides of water there are places where tortois spawns
- everywhere are parrots like a thousends of them (easy food and feathers)
- rly nice sunsets and sunrises
- in the dock you have one filter
- lots of fallen rotting trees for mushrooms

What is on -?
- on bamboo site (almost after i get to the dock side) there was 4 siting and singing natives (3 of them have a bow so becareful!!) and after some days 4 in docks (1 with spear, 3 with knives) and another 2-4 days later 2 (they have bows) again was siting and singing on bamboo beach (but after killing them now its like 30days with no more natives around)
- small space for large or medium buildings but you can build there like 2x2 and just make 3 floors house (i have one like this here)
