I have found a jaguar once and a few tribals, but never more than 2 at a time and the sightings are pretty spread out.
Also a pre-made Killer Trap really close by that catches Peccary almost daily.
Coordinates are: 50W, 28S
Current days Survived: 39
Near are a lot of bamboo.
Nearby is purple plant for curing venom. fish, birds, lizards, various small game. You have both wood and bambo to work with. Near the cave in bananas, and an unlimited supply of coconuts. I always find the bandage plant around the cave and it has a pre-made bed and shelter build, so you can save your game without having to build anything.
It's the exact opposite side from the safe haven that you see in the loading screen The nice place with the waterfall.
At more days you do have some native that will spawn near you , enough that you can hear they singing but I just stayed on the west part near my cave and had no problems with them. They left me alone and I was developing the area building, etc and hearing the songs of tribe.
Waiting for a hotfix.
Could also find not one Tribesman near the Anaconda Camp since i killed the 2 hunters (before the combat update, not spearsmen patrol).

the fishing Dock 51'W 19'S also has a ton bamboo across the river also a small base on the top of the hill gives medium shelter and bow. 52'W 17'S - Bamboo camp.
The Anaconda Island , 35W 26S
I made the mainbase using current buildings destroyed some.
Made a smaller camp for cooking - cross the bridge at the southern end there is a track goes up and to the left, bananas grow there and plenty of Capybara , lots of wood. fruit.
Bamboo is available as well.
46'W 26'S - Abandoned camp near river with hammock has thatched roof, . is pretty good spot but unless your playing walk in the park natives visit same with a tiger.
Anaconda Island has enough room for a rather spacious modular base and a few free standing medium bamboo shelters. Across the east bridge is the "wood" forest side and across the west bridge is the bamboo forest side. There is a bit of both growing on the island, but aside from clearing space to build, I try to maintain the natural beauty of my island by not leveling all the plant life. Furthermore, if you don't cut down the trees/plants that give off bananas, nuts or ceriman, then you basically have an endless supply.
Anaconda Island has:
* 3 Ceriman aka Monstera deliciosa plants (for carbs; doesn't spoil when picked)
* 1 banana tree (for carbs)
* 1 nut tree (for fats)
* 1 animal corpse for bones and maggots (for bone stew and fish bait)
* 1 pre-existing prawn trap (protein)
* water lilies growing in water along shore of island
* snails along the rocks at the edges of the island (protein, easy sanity if smoked)
* parrots, parrots and more parrots (protein, feathers, archery practice)
* yellow mushrooms (carbs) and orange cap mushrooms (carbs, -1 parasite)
* several coconut trees (for fats/carbs)
* occasional tobacco, unknown fruit (soursop the -2 parasite fruit) spawn on island
* occasional tobacco, Quassia Amara, Unknown herb (purple flower), etc just across east bridge
* endless tortoise spawn for unlimited shells and turtle meat
* caiman lizard, frogs and mice wandering the island at random (use stone/cage traps)
* endless fish if you build a few large fish traps; fish don't spoil sitting in traps (for protein)
* caiman (at least two, one on NE across from island and one on SW shore)
* loads of capybara 1-2 minutes walk from the island
* occasional honey spawn on a tiny island SW of Anaconda island connected by rocks
* natives don't seem to cross bridges; not sure if they spawn on the island (yet)
* prebuilt campfire under hanging tarp that is water proof
I have 3-4 water collectors w/ shells in each for easy clean drinking water.
On the prebuilt campfire I have 4 shells on it to have multiple soups going. The water's edge is 10 seconds from the campfire so I can use dirty water and boil it.
I destroyed the prawn trap and in its place have 3 large fish traps, holding 2 fish each at any given time. I'm still trying to test if they body block; if so, I can funnel the caiman that make landfall up one spot for easier killing.
I also have two drying racks set up so at any given time I have 4 shells of soup and 14 or so dried out meats.
The only notable dangers I have experienced on the island is the caiman from the northeast shore has swam across the lake and come out onto the island and attacked me. If you stand at the head of the anaconda and look NE, on the opposite shore, there is a tributary flowing into the lagoon. On the shore to the right of the mouth of the tributary is where the caiman comes out of the water when it's minding its own business and not swimming.
There is also a goliath bird spider on the south western corner of the island.
There are big cats in the area to watch out for; I've never encountered them immediately across the west bridge (bamboo side), but I often hear one not to far from the east bridge (wood side).
If I wasn't camped on Anaconda Island, I would probably choose Haven on the map (45W, 32S). That's where my original base was prior to the water update.
