Natives?

I was super interested in the trailer until I got to what looked like attacking natives? Is that actually what's going on in the game? I'm hoping there's some not-what-it-looks-like explanation for it, like thre is in The Forest. I'm not super stoked about being some white dude out killing natives in the jungle...

There are a few tribes of natives in the game that you can avoid for the most part if you so wish. They are not (at the moment) integral to the game.

The tutorial/first part of the story actually explaines them (and therefore the current setting) rather well.
They are however as mentioned already not yet important.

A bit of a fact check here: some native "lost tribes" in the rainforests do behave and have behaved in very hostile ways toward outsiders. They may be justified or not, but it does happen and has happened. Now, if I were trying to survive alone in the rainforest and someone tried to kill me for whatever reason (even though I had not tried to harm them in any way), I would defend myself to the best of my ability. It wouldn't matter to me what race or religion the attackers were. Portraying factual situations is not racist. Implying that a native main character or a bunch of white natives would make the situation better IS racist.
Plus, there is no requirement to kill or even interact with the natives. If you are attacked, you can run away. Mostly, you can avoid them all together, if you're not running through the jungle like an idiot.
By the way, I'm not stoked about killing ANYONE. If you're looking for a game that lets you kill people, but only the people it's politically correct to kill, you may have a bit of a problem.

I agree, they seem like a safe bet, for the most part.
But nowadays people get even triggered by that.
Remember some whining about dying light a while back.
Same goes for aliens or even demos, as recently shown.
The most important thing is not to give into this crap and stand the ground.
These people are usually not buying the products anyway.
At least not in the required numbers.
This is also the reason why most (if not all, as far as i am aware) products which are tailormade for them specifically fail, big time.

Probably because in real life nothing like that EVER HAPPENED.
