Where to find mud and metal blueprints?

I've been playing the recent updates for a few days now and have no idea how to update my logbook with the new mud and metal entries.

Is there a location somewhere that i need to go to discover existing mud huts etc?

Go to a pool of water and expand to take some mud. You'll get all or most blueprints

Go to a cave and using your axe cut out some iron ore and the other BP will appear.
If playing on an old save not sure if they all appear. Once you do the mud pickup and also get the iron ore they should all be there.
look in the nearly invisible mud huts top header in your notepad, look in the water tab and tools.

[Sorry for Necro] If it makes you feel any better, I actually *beat* the game before I noticed that water had an "expand" menu option.
