Any way to turn off the annoying mice sounds?

I build a base near a spawn point of a mouse...and it's non-stop squeaking. Kill mouse, take a break from the game, reload and...the damn squeaking again.

+1, unfortunately the only method that can stop them is using a bamboo spear or bow and arrow for target prractise. Build small traps.

I had to turn my game off. They are like nails on a chalkboard. If you setup a shelter in certain places it is nonstop, every 20 seconds. If you kill them, they will just respawn again eventually.

Honestly find the audio in this game to be the worst aspect of it, right next to getting stuck on any small object on the ground and jumping backwards randomly. I can hear a capybara moving around from 50m away but a tribesman running through the trees to shove a spear up my ass won't make a sound until he's right on me. Even with a good headset it can be hard to locate anything by sound alone

Since this thread comes up in google search, there is the QuieterMouse mod on Nexus Mods, allowing to change the volume. Seems like it was released just recently. By default the mod sets the value to 25%, but this squeak is so distinctive and annoying even at lower volumes, that I definitely recommend muting it completely...
