Iron vein not harvesting?

Not sure if it's a bug or just me not being patient, but I found iron ore with the pick axe symbol on it and tried mining it with a pickaxe, but after breaking 3 pickaxes and hitting it at least 50 times, nothing comes out. Is there something I'm missing?

I think the hitbox is weird. I broke several pickaxes as well, but after moving to the side the vein mined in a few swings.

It is a very glitchy thing to do. The Hitbox is totally messed up imo. When you aim and then click, your crosshair will move while you swing your tool and you will hit it somewhere else. Some ores can only be mined while ducking.

Its always been glitchy using the pick axe going back a long time to the mud update release.
Use your stone axe solved.

I used the stone pickaxe while crouching to hit that thing... maybe this helps ;)

I found an iron vein in the cave East of the village and it doesn't have the mine symbol. Is it the same hitbox problem or this one just cannot be mined?

It's an otherwise empty mine (except for 1 scorpion).

I also found it weird that there are two entries next to each other and one of them has an invisible wall preventing from entering/exiting from this tunnel.
