Controller Issue

So, just got this game and was fiddling with the controls prior to playing and come to find out the only thing that doesn't work is the movement. I can't move.

I can look around and use all the other controls, but I cannot move. What gives?

I have an old school Nostromo N52 (2003) that I've never had any problems with, used on hundreds of games (XP, Vista, 8, &10), until this game. If I push any button on the N52, it pops up on the screen with gamepad detected. Doesn't matter if I push yes or no, the mouse disappears, and I have to guess where to click. Enabling the gamepad never works. It forces me to use only the keyboard. If i disable my N52 and use only my mouse and keyboard it works with no problems. FIX IT!

Little over two years later, and I'm still here having the exact same issue with a bluetooth Xbone controller. Haven't tried to play with the controller powered off, yet, but quite frankly I would rather play *with* the controller, and that just doesn't seem to be possible. It was, recently, though one trigger simply didn't work and made the game unplayable.

What the hell is happening?

Hey, please you try this: right-click the game, select "Properties", then "Controllers", then select the drop-down menu and pick "disable steam input".
Let me know if that helps.

Just purchased the game today. I cannot swing a weapon with the LT button on my controller? Is there a fix for this issue?

I used an Xbox One controller, but switched to keyboard and mouse just because it was less of a pain in the ass to go through inventory and craft.
