Player Experience
I have kept an eye on this game since pre release, but everytime a sale came up or I wanted to buy the game, I always chose another game over this. Main reason is I already own the Forest, and they are very similar.
New sale is on and once again my mind is racing, do i get this or not. I own way too many survival games as it is.
Im not asking what the game is about, my question is what the player experience is like? Does it become repetitious? Is it one of those games where developers dont know how to make the game challenging so they make you eat and drink constantly ?
Is it laid back, where after a hard day you can enjoy the sunset, or are you forced back into the wild to scavenge for your survival.
Base building, is fairly extensive, probably one of the better games from what i can see, but is there a point to it or purely cosmetic? Does it shelter you from animals, savages, or weather?
What is your opinion, compared to some other survival games?
Thanks

I my opinion this game is decent. Sometimes frustrating, and buggy, but its also quite immersive and realistic at times. I can get repetitive unless you play it in smaller doses. The best part of Green Hell was the learning curve, getting start and learning the game and its mechanics is a true challenge if you have no idea what to expect. Its a great game to experience but like many other survival games it lacks content. The map is also not very big but at least its well detailed. You do have to drink and eat constantly especially on the harder difficulties but once you learn the game well its somewhat easy to get food and water. If build correctly bases will help defend against animal and tribe attacks but sometimes tribe man can spawn in the middle of your base after you come back from exploring. Also the AI isn't great from what I remember especially if your aren't scared to fight. Its a mostly relaxing survival sim but a few problems here and there but I consider it a worth while experience. Green Hell also has serious performance issues on high end systems so beware and be prepared to run the game at 40-50 fps at 1080p on a RTX 2060 Super. A beautiful but laggy game. A immersive but annoying game. Its a game that focus on survival and self preservation, which means eating sleeping, hunting scavenging, fighting, running away, building, and crafting. Which happens to be realistically repetitive. Which is why I say Green Hell is best small doses after you've learnt how to play it. Green Hell is unforgiving and you do have to eat and drink often. All I can do is describe it. Its not the same as the Forest if you ask me.

Thank you so much, seems like a lot of people are complaining about optimisation, I will pass on this. Thanks

I think it's for the best, for the moment.
I also had to choose from this one and The Forest, because their prices never drop down enough to justify the purchase of both.
If you already have The Forest you're fine.
They both have pros and cons (and a short disappointing story-mode. But the one of The Forest is way worse).
The BUILDING of The Forest is better managed.
Same is for the Co-Op... it's also in VR... yes, keep The Forest.
...
So why did I chose this one?
Mainly for it's POTENTIAL.

The guys of The Forest tooks years to make it a good game, but it seems it never gets an update.
While I liked the effort the guys of GREEN HELL to follow their Road Map.
I said to myself: "if they'll actually release the next 2 updated in time, I'll buy the game".
They did and so did I.
