Larva too big for fishing rod?
Pardon my sounding ignorant but when I try to attach a larva (praise its soul) on the fishing rod by dragging it to the circle icon it fails. The circle disappears and the larva falls on my hand. (Yuck)

How do you go about doing it right?

Build a fishing rod trap add a large larva to the fishing rod trap catch a fish and get some fish bones craft them to fish hooks . Add the fish hook then bait it.
I may need to play this game again go fishing to see if anything has changed in a few months.

Have you added a fishing hook?
The larger larva can be used as bait in traps fish traps etc.
Build a fishing rod trap add a large larva to the fishing rod trap catch a fish and get some fish bones craft them to fish hooks . Add the fish hook then bait it.
