Grill Rack
Just wanna ask is there any way to boil some water in coconut/turtle shell on the grill rack or the only way is when you put it near the fire? Because that would be great to have that feature, Boiling water on rack and the rest 2 or 4 spots use for other things like meat etc.

Build the grill rack over a stone circle with small fire, place a couple of empty cocoanut bowls on the grill rack add dirty water and yes it will boil even in the turtle shells. Holds 3 bowls even make bone soup leave on the grill rack willlast a few days if I recall.
Do you have the BP for the water catcher yet?
Build 2 or 3 of them place a turtle shell beneath them and you will have water forever. Craft 3 bidens and fill with the clean water carry with you. I just happen to have an old screenshot

If that would be possible for me than i would boil it that way. It happened for me once, but after a while i could not boil water anymore. So maybe this is a bug of some kind.
When I put turtle shell/coconut bowl on the grill rack and place dirty water in them when the fire is up the water is not boiling.

It looks to me like the grill rack is not correctly aligned to the fire due to terrain. If I were you I would smash it and try to place it again, making sure it snaps to the campfire. Rotate it before placing so that you can get it a bit more level.

Let me try that again for you and I will post back a screenshot :)

Barnes may be right. I tried build another grill rack earlier but that doesn't help either. My guess is that grill rack is still misplaced and something is a bit off as it some kind of floats over the fire and not touching the ground with all "legs".

u build the rack first then place fire under it

I build the stone ring first then place the grill rack over it, place a small fire into the stone ring.

your grill rack position well the 2 on the right cooking ok, maybe the turtle shell is too big try placing a cocoanut bowl there instead It looks like its too far off to the left of the fire. Agree the placement maybe slight too froward.
I used only one to illustrate

Just ran into this issue - the coconut shells not working properly on the grill rack.

Try changing the shells to different ones that have not been on the rack or fire. I used spare coconut shells I had out as rain catchers and that seemed to clear up the problem, at least as a temporary fix.

Very good.
I just wanted to let you know I also find that if I put meat into the turtle shell first without water it doesn't work.
Water must be placed into the shell first then meat. :)

Thanks everyone for the comments :) I had another issue last day with grill rack. Meat I placed on it wasn't cooking at all. I am still wondering is this just a misplace of the grill rack that cause this or the problem is somewhere else.

What type of meat is it?
There seem to be some animals that wont make soup maybe some won't grill? I haven't seen any yet.
Could you let me know what animal and I'll test it as well on my grill.

Also just wanted to share with you I'm playing green using the grill rack with 3 tortoise shells when I use them for soup then drink it then add dirty water it doesn't boil,
so I just open the back pack then grab a tortoise shell bowl take it off and put it straight back on starts to boil then. Maybe I have to do the dishes first lol.

Haha that's good :D I mean any type of meat. But I am sure now this is a bug that comes with misplacing the grill rack.
Really I think the grill rack positioning is sometimes weird and clumsy especially with uneven terrain (I think this is right word, English is not my 1st language so sorry bout that). Sometimes grill rack is just floating over the fire, and sometimes nothing I put on it is working.
But I must say that today I made new build. First I placed ring stone, 2nd was the small fire and as a 3rd grill rack. This way everything worked good. But if you place grill rack before fire i doubt it would work. I mean i did this first but meat was not cooking at all so i destroyed rack and build a new one over the fire.

I occasionally have the issue that water, soup or an infusion won't boil in a shell on the fire. I find taking out the water then picking up and replacing the shell seems to fix the issue. So far I've only had this issue with coconut shells.
