Transporting planks

Planks take up too much space in the backpack. That is why it seems to me a good idea to be able to move them in the same way as large stones and long sticks. That way they can be better stacked.

Agree.
But you can
Hold your knapsack open then pickup plank and carry it.
Just set yourself up enough to see where you are going.

I agree, except that it is rather difficult to see where you go that way.

I wonder what the purpose of the plank is as well. I can only use it for firewood :)
Maybe a future plan with the mud buildings?

I made a fire starter out of one plank and a small stick.

im having the same issue, ive emptied my pack to a REASONABLE degree, and i still cant transport planks.
but transporting them like you said is moot to me. i can just move the logs that make them. but i need to be holding them in my inventory to build the storage box i need so badly. but i cant pick them up to build it, because i dont have space. but i need the box to free up spacem but i cant build the box without the planks, but i cant pick up planks because i dont have space, but i cant get space without the box, but i cant make the box without the planks, but i think i deserve a refund, WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥. how did this make it past testing since december of last year!? lol

Its quite easy problem to solve
1.Chop a tree down and carry the logs back to your storage box. (don't forget you can carry 3 logs at once, but in this case you only need 2)
2.Harvest the logs, which will give you planks and sticks.
3.Empty out your backpack, drop everything on the floor by the storage box your making.
4.Pick up the planks, Finish the storage box.
5.Pick up all the stuff you just dropped on the floor. Then sort it in to the storage box.
6.Stand back and admire your work.

Could always just carry multiple logs with you if you know you need planks. Bring the logs to wherever you need the planks, harvest the log.

How do you guys make planks? I am playing for 30 days already, felt pretty comfortable until decided to build a small planting box. When I harvest a log, I get only sticks. Should it be some specific type of logs?

You can either harvest a log into 4 sticks and one plank or use an axe to chop a log into two long sticks and one plank

Planks are used to make mud storage boxes, planters & fire starter. Also one will fill an charcoal furnace almost halfway.

The best way to carry anything in this game is to open your crafting stone thing, look at the ground, drag whatever you want on to the stone, planks, large stones, mud bricks, etc... Then just use the right mouse button to aim as you walk towards your destination.
They did fix it so that it still adds to your total weight, but it is still super useful. Just be careful how you put the stack down, don't just close the crafting stone. Rather drag or click off each item otherwise you get an explosion of items that shoot into the sky.

planks are good to look at, planks can be harvested to get tons of wood from a sngle object, planks can be used to craft a firestarter and are very usefull to feed a fireplace. For some unknown reasons you still try to put them in your bag instead of just carrying 5-10 of them piled in your arms so yes the subject idea must be approved and yes it's significantly usefull more than some other things like bow trap with which I never ever catch anything but myself failing a jump or forgetting one very well hide (I'm definitly the rp kind)

This thread dates back to 31 Dec, 2018, we now have a ton of new stuff since then and yep planks have use.
