That being said it rains alot and if you are getting enogh water from that then i wouldnt bother building one as its would waste time
I would like to see a due collecter tho
I built one mostly to see how it worked and it seems to gather rain water much faster -- about 1 Hydration a second or even a little faster than that -- than the coconut shells do. For filling up the coconut bidons or the 'modern' bidon you can find out in the jungle it's basically a requirement if you don't want to line up 10 coconut shells on the ground.
The purifier is nice for quickly getting clean water if it's not raining -- say you went off into the wilderness and ran through all your water and it just didn't rain today and you come home and oops all your containers are still dry you can pick up your cook pot or fill a bidon and dump it into a coconut shell or the cook pot through the purifier. It works pretty well and I've had to do that twice now and I consider myself pretty well established in my save right now.
One time I got bitten by a snake as I returned to camp and was simply too low on energy to relight my fire (this was before I'd finished the structure over my campfire so the rain wouldn't put it out) and I needed hydration to keep my health potential (called Condition) up high enough to survive the poison duration. The purifier literally saved my life, in that situation.
It's not going to come up all the time or anything but they come in handy in certain situations or for people who want a more immersive base rather than a 'perfect play' sort of base.
For instance, I have a water collector (I might even have two actually) just because it looks more realistic to me than to have a ton of coconut shells laying on the ground specifically to collect rain water but I'm not necessarily getting a ton more functionality out of it.
I expect that over the course of development water that is simply left out to the open air will become (Unsafe) and then (Dirty) over time, necessitating boiling or use of the purifier.
In my current game it hasn't rained for several days now. I have to depend on water collector to provide hydration for me for a couple of days. It collect water relatively fast but one water collector will not be enough if goes for days without rain. Eventually I have to relocate to my other base at the waterfall.
about 100% sure :P
I built and filled my water filter with water, but I can't figure out how to collect it back from the filter?
There is a circle at the bottom of the filter, but the coconut bidon wont go there...
but, 6 days raining non stop?? i know this is possible in amazon jungle but in this game? bug maybe?
