firepit? / fire ring?
I ve 2 question:

-In a campment spot where we can find bamboo medium shelter and bamboo smoker, there is a fire surrunded by big stone. It is possible to cook 4 meal at the same time if i remember correctly. I would like to buid the same thing elsewhere but i didn t success to "discover" it and to track it on my note book by walking on/near it. Is there a bug or am i wrong with something?

-in another post, there is a way to craft a firepit with ash and charcoal, i try it but nothing happens, the combo on crafting table doesn t seems to have any available result. Do we have to discover a construction on the map?

There's a possibility to craft them but you need to find and see them before it will unlock in your notes.

Firepit with stone ring, what does this do other than can cook more than 2 at times? Is it rain proof?

Not waterproof but importantly, fire rings lets you rebuild your campfire at the same spot

There is also:
Tandoor[duckduckgo.com]

Purely for cooking since the heat is contained, which isn't necessary for camping.

You have 5 cooking spots on stone ring, thats the only difference I noticed.

You've misunderstood. You don't craft firepit from ash and charcoal. You get ash and charcoal from the burned out small fire (firepit). LOL

BTW, have you been to 46'W 26'S? It's an abandoned camp near river, with hammock. You can unlock stone ring there campfire there.

The stone ring allows you to cook four items, compare to 2 with the small fire. Also, the "campfire" i.e. just building a small fire in the stone ring allows the fire to last nearly twice as long. More importantly, within the stone ring/campfire location you can find a tribal fire starter which use less stamina to use and last longer. Also, it is the only item you cannot craft without discovering it first.

I haven't discovered log bed and I still couldn't craft one.

Does the campfire goes away afterwards or is it just a bug. I had a campfire that disappeared after the fire burned out, with only ashes and charcoals left but no stone around.

Yeah the camp fire stones disappear which sucks. Best thing to do at the moment is make the stone ring with a small fire in it. You get three cooking spots from the ring and two from the small fire. Those two from the small fire may be bugged though or unintended as the items you place on them go under the ring. It seems imbalanced too to get 5 cooking spots.

Did anyone have luck building the small fire inside the stone ring? I tried both way by building the small fire first then stone ring and the other way around but I cannot seem to build them together.

Yeah it worked for me even underneath a small shelter. Built the ring first. Note the ring has to be complete. Once it is the fire blueprint snaps into the middle
