Items Piling Up on The Ground
This is not a critic, just an observation and hopefully a start in finding ways to make the game better.

Exhibit one - bones
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1499753639
For every peccary, capybara and dead native harvested you get a number of bones. If you harvest fish, you'll get fish bones. You can make bone brew out of the bones but not from fish bones. Also, there's only so much brew you can make out of the bones before you're running out of water.

The more fish you harvest, the more fish bones you'll amass and other than to pick worm under your skin, there's no other use for fish bones. This will start to pile up more and more if you rely on fish for protein.

Exhibit two - bird feather
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1499753914
You get feather from harvesting dead macaw and natives. You can craft arrows out of bird feather but it's tedious and you don't need that many arrows anyway.

Exhibit three - arrows
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1499158297
Every arrow you crafted or shot by the natives will start to pile up. Eventually the ground and whatever the native decide to target on (like trees and rock face in the picture) will be littered with arrows. And it never despawn.

Exhibit four - green coconut
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1499755050
Each coconut tree has a chance to drop a coconut every time you load the area. This is nice for people struggling to find source of clean water. But if you build a base with a lot of coconut trees nearby, you'll get a pile up of green coconut at the base of every trees. Even if you harvested them all, the coconut shell will start to pile up all over the place.

Not pictured: stick blade and bows dropped by dead natives.

I like that the items never despawn. But eventually it will start to add up more and more the longer you play the game. Will this affect the game performance? Is it possible to have an option to destroy any of the items in context menu when right clicking on it?

Though I really like my persistent log pile, I have to agree with this. Items pile up to the point where's just too many of them.

Maybe it would be a good idea to be able to build storage for all the things you collect

Recently I found that if you drop the fish bones into the water it will be deleted. Not sure whether it will be immediately deleted when fall into water or after the area unload but they're not there anymore when I come back.

I tried the same thing with arrows and feathers but it doesn't work on those. Those items will remain at the bottom of the water.

Also if you drop rotten food on the ground, they'll disappear after a while. I just wish it was consistent for all item. Like maybe if you drop them on the fire it will be destroyed etc.

Yeah this is still happening.

This will lead to save game bloat like happened in Skyrim before they started making bodies and some items despawn after a certain amount of in-game time.

This WILL become a gamebreaking issue on long games and needs to be addressed.

I agree about the pile ups over time. But.. I use the destroy option to get rid of the extra materials. Might be neat to have a few different animations for the destroy, Like grinding/smashing the bones or burning the feathers or shreading the coconut hulls.
