Cover for fire?

Is there a way to build a structure or something over a fire to protect it from rain? I've built a camp down by a stream. Plenty of fish, bananas, tinder, sticks, etc but every damn time i try to cook something: it starts to rain.

Are you talking about the campfire that requires 12 big rocks to build? I built that one near the waterfall and it went out every single time it rains. And it always rains whenever I decided to light the fire. Does it work differently for you?

Yes this it what i mean, i place it near my sleeping house, no roof over the fireplace. And when its rain the fire burn, idk if was a bug or not :)

If u protect your fireplace u can build a easy bambushut or woodenhut and under this u can place a little fireplace, for it's work.

build a small wooden shelter also comes in bamboo. It is discoverable I think?
Look in your survivor pad. Huts>place blueprint it can also be rotated using center button I think. It tells you anyway.
Uses either palm leaves or bamboo. Mine is palm leaves I build them everywhere. Build 2 and place leaf bed under one. Just wish I could use banana leaves as well.

As you go down to waterfall look for a log on your right and then a stump looks like a small track follow into the rock was close by there is a small cave build a leaf bed and small fire camp in there

You can build the little lean-to structure and put your camp fire underneath it to keep it safe from rain.
