Cover for fire?

Is there a way to build a structure or something over a fire to protect it from rain? I've built a camp down by a stream. Plenty of fish, bananas, tinder, sticks, etc but every damn time i try to cook something: it starts to rain.

The only one I think that will work is a bamboo shelter and I think that take a special axe to get the materials.

I found a cave to put mine in.

I feel you man. Built a nice campfire near the waterfall with the clear lake with water lily and the game decided to rain every time I light the fire. It stops as soon as the fire went out. Feels like they're just messing with me for sh*t & giggles.

I found that if I build smoker or bamboo smoker over the fire, that'll protect it from rain. Haven't gone back to the campfire near the waterfall yet since I discovered the bamboo smoker but it works on my other camp near the plane crash.

as a side note, caves are not too hard to find. or behind waterfalls

I found a very small shallow cave near my camp to use but a cover for fire would be a nice feature

Smoker at 37'W 19'S but guarded by four or five natives. Very dangerous. I sneak up to the smoker but they still can sense me so I had to run away since no way I'm going against them all. They keep chasing me and somehow I made it to the molineria spot with the elevator at the cliff and slowly killing them off one by one.

Apparently they can't enter the tunnel leading to the molineria spot. I manage to kill all five of them but it was a very tense fight.

You can find a fireplace by a big destroyed tribal camp (when i'm back inGame i can give u the coords) this fireplace with stones burn when its rain and is the biggest from the three that i find.

Are you talking about the campfire that requires 12 big rocks to build? I built that one near the waterfall and it went out every single time it rains. And it always rains whenever I decided to light the fire. Does it work differently for you?

I've found that the fire doesn't go out when it's under a small shelter. The one with two logs. I build one of those then one of the small bed shelters to sleep in and it's all good. Not sure whether you can get worms sleeping in those shelters but I haven't had one in 10 days.

I think the 1st respawn point will be random. I tried to find the waterfall but I counldn't. I spent 3hrs try to find it :/ Can you give me the coordinates on your watch ( ?? W ?? S)
