How Do You Light The Camp Fire?

So far I have every thing I need for the campfire, all is contructed, the two sticks and the tinder are ready, I'm in the position to start rubbing the sticks together but I have no idea what to do next. I tried pressing a bunch of buttons like E but no deal.

Never mind, I got it. I put the tinder in the wrong spot, its supposed to be in the spot closest to you.

Put the tinder/dry leafs in the little while circle under his hands where he is holding the sticks then the animation will play with him rubbing sticks together, then yoi place the fire onto the circle on the campfire

You have to place it on the icon that shows up when looking at the campfire, there is two fo them i think, been awhile since i played, but try them both.

You can also light a fire with a lit torch, if you want to farm a ton of charcoal and ash. Saves a ton of time.

did you add the small fire first then add all the required small stick an sticks? I done this a few times when building a stone circle I have to add a small fire to the stone circle. If it burns out lol rebuild it.
Use a bidon with water to put it out. Place bidon with water on green circle in center of fire water spills.

Hey I’m having this same problem, except I’m trying to place the leaves in that circle. They won’t go there no matter how many times I try, they just keep glitching under the ground or flying a few feet away

I does not use leaves lol
build a small file from your survival notepad place the blueprint first ( white) add small stick and sticks ( press E) If you have enough to complete it then open your backpack see the small fire icon on right open that and r/click tribal firestarter or drill<use.
He places it on the ground then waits for you to add dry leaf. Go back to your backpack and grab dry leaf place it in the spot marked and he will then make the fire using the fire starter or fire drill place onto small fire using the E again.

I already have the hand drill, I'm struggling with the dry kindle. When I place it down it won't sit in the right spot, so I can't make the fire. That's what I'm saying. I don't know if I'm using the wrong kindle or what. I've put down all types of leaves, planks, other sticks, logs. I can't get this stupid man to build the damn fire. Lol

turns out that it's supposed to spawn dry leaves which i've basically clean cut the whole forest down and can't find any. awesome

To get dry leaf cut down either a banana tree with dead leaves or get a birds next or just chop up palm tree that has dry leaf it is a different colour.
leaves eventualy dry.
Increase your energy levels to at least half full or it may fail as well.

That's one way to get kindling. You can also cut down...basically any other non-herb non-tree plant to get 'small pile of leaves'. After they decay (30 minutes or so) they turn into 'dry leaf'. Either in your backpack or on the ground.
Its one of the first things I do when I start a new camp. Smash up some bushes, make a stack of leaves and let them dry while I construct.

Or you can 'harvest' Tobacco or Molinera leaves for 'fiber'. This goes in the slots under the fire tools in your backpack like 'bird nests' do. Good for keeping some kindling handy.

Then use the fire tool (hand drill, plank drill or tribal firestarter) and place the bird nest/fiber/dry leaf on the interact spot on the tool (little circle). Unless using the Tribal firestarter it'll take about half your stamina bar to ignite. Less with Tribal tool, further reduced by skill.
