Just my silly two cents!
If you're looking for hints or tips for your let's play I guess you'll have to wait until the rest of us get to play the game ourselves. Asking about it right now feels like you're rubbing it in. LOL
Also notepad contains all information about wounds and treatments.
In the tutorial videos, they say you should bring plenty of food and water when going on long trips / building shelters.
Bring a couple bananas and coconuts and you should be fine.
Only eat fruits, banana, and pork or parrot meat.
Always have a fire on, you can maintain your fire by placing sticks on the fire.
Watch for leeches and scratches.

Now I just too scared to play after 20 hours.. But sleep helps Sanity.
Do you get the taunting voices?
Also I believe the game will remember some of our actions and respawns these issues like attacks from camp guards tribal witch doctors even when you avoid. Once we kill one we are a target . Some are no real some are camp guards very real if no sanity problems..
