My Eyes!!!!!!!!

What the heck is going on with the camera in this game? My eyes can't handle the screens FOV I assume. Moving in the game is making my eyes water and freak out like I'm messing with their perspective. I had to stop after a few minutes and my eyes are still wonky.

Hi, yes the field of view can hurt when we first start to play.
What will help is to set it to window mode when game is launched there is the setting.
Try playing in window mode and put the resolution at the highest display size to match your screen.
Having the outer edge is good it seems to help the eyes peripheral vision.
Add a good light nearby.
I nolonger have it and many others have said the same using window mode.
For the first few days I had headaches and dizziness nolonger at all.

I just got the game today and have noticed this as well. I appreciate the info on windowed mode but if so many people have had this issue you would think they might have addressed it by now.
I have seen many threads in my search where you have tried to help and give this advice and it is appreciated but people shouldnt have to play a game like this in windowed mode. Totally ruins immersion and without immersion what is a good survival game?

I really do find it troublesome that they seem to have not replied to any of the threads concerning this that I have seen. Maybe I missed one but that does not give me alot of confidence in my investment in this game and the devs honestly.

Early Access or not something like this should have been addressed.

The thing is this problem is not only related to games and many games at that, it's rather caused by the monitor and screens we look at.
There is a lot of information available on the internet about games causing motion sickness sore eyes headaches.
The newer games are very high end graphics 3d VR etc.
It may affect some and not another.
Do you wear glasses?

Ya I understand some people have this issue in general with FPS games but I do not. Never have other than two recent games that I can ever think of. This one somewhat and Escape the Pacific. That one was resolved by the FoV slider but on this game it appears that the FoV is pretty wide already considering the fisheye effect I see on the screen edges at times.
So I am not sure if it is a refresh rate thing or maybe it still has something to do with the FoV or camera or what.

I do understand this can be an issue in general with some people and games but this is not that.

I never have or have had motion sickness in a game, This game hurts my eyes, no motion sickness....... going off topic to prove a point is silly, Thanks for the tips but I loath lazy developers, console settings I can't change, and having to use workarounds. Lame, is this a console port? kinda feels like it.

You ever stop to think that perhaps playing the other games strained your eyes and the strain popped up while playing this one? Because this is a first. Others complain of motion sickness from FOV but No dramatic MY EYES!!!

Its recommended you look at distant objects away from the computer every 30 mins.
Lots of things can cause eye strain. You could have pulled a muscle in your eye while playing if you are straining your eyes while playing this which is POSSIBLE not sayin it aint you might need to take a break from gaming at all for a while.

I recommend lowering mouse sensitivity so you arent spinning so fast. Good luck with your eyes sounds like you strained them. Left for dead 2 causes my vision to become extremely blurry after long periods of game play. I have to take breaks which I recommend you do with all games.

I never get motion sickness or anything but I can see that this game would give it to me if I would play it right now. I don´t even know how people can play it right now. It´s not even fun to stutter around.
The performance of the game sucks and the FOV sucks as well, just accpet that and give it as feedback to the devs.

For me it is not an option to use workarounds to be able to play a stuttering game with a wierd FOV. And it is really sad because the game had a good FOV and a good performance six month ago (even if you couldn´t change FOV it was not as awkward as it is now).

Now please accept the fact that something is wrong with the game and the devs have to fix it. Thats how we get a better game not by working around issues.

If you dont want help and dont want to try any of the suggestions that are there to help you than my suggestion is get off the forum. You act like everyone who complains is just supposed to deal with it. Most of you complaining dont even own the game. You might own it but saying I DONT WANT TO USE workarounds and just accept that I dont like the way the game is and devs need to fix it isnt a great attitude and gets you no where. Go get a refund and get off the forums if you dont want help. Thats what the Forums are for. We are trying to help offer suggestions to ease problems till the DEVS FIX THEM. If you dont like us even answering much less trying to help my suggestion is dont be in here talking about it get your refund and go on and about your rat killing.

I just made a video and Im going to upload it to dispel these myths. And show DOES NOT Run like trash and it is playable and you dont have to eat every 5 seconds.

Those work arounds ARE NOT EXCUSES they are suggestions to help you play the game a little better till solutions come out.

All I can add to this conversation is that the game runs fine, both on my laptop and my Gaming Rig. But then, I take breaks, stand up every 30 minutes or so and don't play for hours without interruptions.

Wow kiddow chill down xD I am sorry that I hurt your imaginary feelings and that you feel so bound with a virtual purchase.
I own the game since it released in early acces and I did a lot of bug reports and feedbacks to help improve it and I will not refund it because I know creepy jar will get it right. They are a perfect example on how early access games and communication with the community should work and they do a great job.

What I wanted to say is that little fan boys like you who tell other people with videos and on forums that this game is in a good state are preventing the evolution of the game. By saying this game is balanced and runs fine you are just lying and pretending.
Pretending the game is in a good state right now will not make it better in fact it will probably make it worse because then the developers think that the game is fine while it isn´t.
And it is early access.. So they want us to criticise the game and to tell them what is wrong. Literally early access exists to criticise and complain about issues so the developers get aware of them. And I will not let my voice shut down by a kid like you. Free speech, welcome to the modern world. With your attitude you are not helping in any way. Yes you offer workarounds to make it playable which I apprechiate and Thank you for that but it is our work to tell the devs what is wrong and not to pretend everything is fine and work around things.

So I stand with what I said. The state of the game at this moment is far from good, it was better six month ago but I still trust that it will get optimized and now take a deep breath and chill out.

And yes you are right. I don´t want workarounds I want a good finished product and I will not pretend that the game is running fine while using workarounds. And until then I will complain and critisise because that is what forums and early acces are therefore and I never trashed that game in any way

I never said the game was perfect I even say I never said that and mention I've had my own issues.
