craft a basic spear long stick my preferred is long bamboo stick shoot and kill some pigs capyburra crabs many animals you'll see. Cook them or better still dry them when you get a chance. If your in teh story mode there is quite a few places with packbacls even in just survival mode outside of story
btw in priority you should prioritize water then carbs then fats and lastly protein protein is arguibly the easiest to handle "anything animal related" but is arguibly the least important to prioritize
My only and final tip for you and base building is after you get the first roof over your head and bed made to sleep. Setting up camp to provide all sources of food and such should be your priority. When you are finally comfortable and sustaining yourself then move on to base building.
