Cool thanks.
This is sound advice! I'd like to add caves to that list, there are usually tons of stones there. Just be careful of scorpions... and I think one cave has a spider or two in it.
Right on, thanks.
Bone + rope =bone knife
Bone + rope + long stick = bone spear
3x Bone + 2 rope + banana leaf = bone armor.
(etc.)
Bone items are a good and it relieves pressure if you can't find enough stone; especially when starting up. It is also plentiful.
Another good tip to suppliment that is a four-pronged spear.
Long stick + 2x small sticks + rope.
It's a weaker damage spear but enough to headshot oneshot most animals, which are a good source of... bones! What this means is that if you start from zero, you can get yourself a knife of any sort, chop a tree, and immediately build a temporary spear to get your hands on more bone. (make sure not to lose that knife, or you will screw yourself a little as you need a blade to harvest animals)
I join a lot of new lobbies, and that is often what I do to get some quick momentum.
Hope it helps.
I stablished next to the pond, so I can catch fish and more or less survive, but no palm tree nearby has coconuts. Some shrooms can heal after drinking bad water, but they arent that common
Heard it should be better to stablish in the small village, but if it was not for the lack of coconuts to boil water, I could perfectly survive next to the starting pond
Yeaaah... The starting pond is (resource-wise) the butt end of the world. The village is a popular building place, but, honestly, you can comfortably YOLO endlessly through the jungle without ever building anything except to save, or sleep. Even sleeping becomes a minor inconvenience.
The blue and/or orange mushrooms are really not uncommon.
They are everywhere, but you won't find them sticking to a tiny part of the map. Check the base of the biggest trees for the blue ones, they are the best ever. For that matter, you can eat ALL mushrooms raw, except fot the white ones.
My advice would be to learn how the map (found at village in story mode) and coordinates on the watch work together, meaning you are free to roam without fear of getting lost.
To maybe add something that would be immediately useful: the little orange fruit (cocona) and the medium green fruit (soursop) both give some hydration, so chomp them on site if you don't want to carry them around.
I know the map is the same it was spawn location for small stones on the map I was referring too... there were almost none- I looked in all the usual places!
I restarted and it wasnt much better; have the spawn sites been reduced for small stones- I havent played for a while but it seems much less than it once was.
There were no big stones either on my first run through since the tree regrowing update.... I dunno if I was just unlucky with the area of the map I was in- I havent been back there in my new run (it was near the cave that has the thing down to the mine). Maybe it is just always lacking in stone spawn sites.
Ive been playing for years and hadnt experience it before and certainly not in that area...
In the new run through Im seeing small stone spawns again, but they do seem less frequent... I havent been paying attention to the game as the no tree respawning thing had stopped me playing... I should probably read the patch notes if I want an answer on this eh
