Finaly: on a GTX 1060
On a GT 1030, I wasn't able to play the game at a reasonable FPS in any resolution.
I had to lower it to 720p and squint at all the blurry objects.
But on my second computer, I went through to install the OS fresh on an SSD and work my way to getting Steam running and give this game a try on here.

My 1030 PC has a quad (no HT) but clocks over 3Ghz (with a SSD), and only 8GB of RAM.
The 1060 PC has a 6-core with HT, and only 12GB of RAM. Both on SSD's (now).

Playing in 1080p on the 1060 PC, I can finally run around the world and see and read things.
... and die lol.

I'm getting better at crafting, I just need to find a decent place to build quickly so I can cook right away.
Spoiled foods, mushrooms, and tainted water.

I'll get the hang of it eventually before the release.
And definitely cannot wait for my friends to get it so when the co-op mode comes out, we can all die happily ever after.

I do hope the game will allow more customizable graphics settings in the future.

And definitely would love a HUD-less mode so I can enable NVidia DSR and take screens in 4K.

Well done, yes dieing often at the start is pretty normal save manually often ok and in different slots. Build that small shelter asap :)
I am also running the game with a GTX 1060. 3 gig VRam
The game plays great for me with 16 gig of ram 850w corsair PSU. intel i5 3.4 GHz 4 cores.
Its truely the best survival game ever for me. And I have played many.
Where the others fail is the monsters and game mechanics.

Play the walk in the park till you get a hand of the game mechanics.
And I feel they are the best as well. Easy to understand and use.
Get used to listening for animals spiders snakes stingray bees ants normal stuff lol and watch the terrain changes trees and sun positions.

If you need help tips guidelines just ask here there is lots of us who have played a long time.
I'm over 500 hours and still love the immersive and beauty of this game walking through the forests is just so good.
My main base is the abandoned village and playing the walk in the park.
46'W 26'S - Abandoned camp near river with hammock.
Unlock: Stone ring, campfire, tribal firestarter, bone knife, bamboo drier, cage trap, has a banana plantation lots of nuts and capybura and other animals. make lots of soup in coconut bowls with clean water much better stores a long time.
Anaconda is also good.

Glad to hear your good news, Sparktank. ^^ I've been following the game since before it's release into Early Access; I had planned to buy it right away, but as I'm already heavily involved w/ another EA survival game, I decided to wait.

With full release eminent, hopefully I'll be going to Hell soon myself. :cozycastondeath: ^^
