Dropped items Disappearing?
Made a few coconut bidons , and had them on the ground while i was building a structure, and they vanished , seems like anything dropped will despawn very fast. is this a bug or no. ty

Yes items disappear even from storage boxes. Coal is gone within 2 days or so even from box. I hope that storage box items would have longer lifespan than that.

hmm , ok , seems a bit dramatic, reason we have storage is to hold things of importance.. to use later.

Im on day 27 and the only things that ever disappeared was stuff on the ground after a few days, which is intended so you don't have hundreds of sticks on th ground slowing down your game. I have several storage boxes and nothing ever disappeared from those.

I've had items on drying rack disappear while it was in drying process. Also my cooking pot disappeared after a load

no soup for you ;P its nice that items despawn, but to have meat vanish from a drying rack is a little extreme.

● Decay Timer— Many items in the game will now start to wither and decay. Players will
have to be vigilant learning to use their items before they expire.

coconuts half are not one of the items that decay, i think cooking pot is the same its weird that you lost it

I have had many things disappear: meats on dryer, fire burnt out even after i threw water in it to start it back up when i return form a adventure, coal disappearing in storage box just to name a few, Devs said he will think about implementing turning off decay in another post which i hope is soon cause although this is a great game, decay always sux in games unless you can set timers on them,my opinion.

i agree , things are certainly decaying faster than i would like it to :)

I don´t like it, that items disappear, especially those, which normally wouldn´t. Why should coal decay? Or today all my bones in the harbour where gone. Normally they would stay, at least some days... i hope they´ll change this again or give us the opportunity to make our own options.

My first base was in a cave in the starting zone, nothing ever disappeared, so when I first started playing I figure it was like Stranded Deep, and you could just organize all your stuff on the ground. Then I moved to the western oasis, built a house and noticed all my items disappearing, even my pile of obsidian.. Interestingly when I go back to that cave my piles of items are still there, so not sure if it that its in a cave or has something to do with the starting zone, or just a bug. There is one section of the cave with a open roof that gets rained on, in that section the items do disappear, Could decay be affected by water? I have noticed my mud house does not stay dry in the rain.. Cave is 43,27. Going to make a base in a new cave and see if its the same.

i think your meat was snatched by the natives

Items not under a roof certainly seem to despawn more quickly, which would make sense, but I don't think one-of-a-kind items and stuff in storage boxes and racks should disappear. If they do, it's a bug
