Log bed vs shelter

Is there a difference between one or the other? Is it worth traveling to the aircraft wreck to get the log bed if it doesn't confer any advantage over other sleeping mats or shelters?

Hi Gary,
The bed at the plane is wood log bed. Gives BP for that bed.
Shelters dont really seem to do much with the sleeping quality other than gets the player out of the rain as we know rain brings leeches.
The game mechanics dont seem to cover this so much as you can sleep in the rain on a bed or under roof however the leaf bed on the ground attracts more leeches.
The bamboo log bed or just a wooden log bed raises the player off the ground with less chance of getting leeches.

Yes its worth travelling to the plane, but I generally try to set myself up for the trek at one of the bases with hammocks first. For some reason I always have trouble finding the plane.

Coordinates are there to find your position on the map. It's more in line with how you would do it in real life.

the only difference is the time you spent for craft the bed, i use to sleep on a leaf bed under the rain and keep the fire cover.

If I recall the plane had the bamboo log bed BP in the cave its been changed. And that was the purpose of travelling to the plane as some areas on the map had only bamboo and not much trees.
Can you guys remember.
Now its a wooden log bed. Doesnt seem familiar and had to edit my first comment as I referred to the bamboo BP log bed.
I walked back there and now its wooden log bed BP surprised me.
So whats the purpose of going there? Good question.

Either u never started with any log bed BP and the one at the plane unlocked both versions(as is the case now)
or the BP u started with in ea, was the bamboo one.
Eitherway, i have always gone to the plane for the BP and i never build with bamboo.

Other then the plane model, the boxes outside the cave and items spawned, nothing else has changed since early access. It has always been a log bed in that cave, that unlocks both wood and bamboo versions.

Any bed that is raised off the floor helps to prevent you from picking up those pesky worms that burrow under your skin.

I see so it unlocked both that makes sense, Yes I knew it has always been log bed but it was bamboo before. New Game anyway.. No worries thanks for that. :)

Yeah I know thats an option, its just one I prefer not to use, so much getting lost finding the plane.

Its much more fun without the map in survival.
