Will meat not dry during the rainy season

I've had some luck drying meat when it is dry out but when it is raining most of the time, it seems like the meat will spoil rather than dry. I suppose this makes sense. I guess meat shouldn't dry when the air undoubtedly very humid. Has anyone else encountered this or am I doing something wrong?

Dryer don't work under the rain, just cover it

I did cover it with a frame and a palm leaf roof. But even covered during the rainy season it's not working for me.

Yeah that sounds too realistic. It dries fine for me wet or dry season.
If this is at Anaconda seems that one maybe bugged as I noticed the hooks are back to front on that dryer, build a new one .

This was at the Anaconda camp but it's on a new bamboo dryer that I built. I built it under a frame that was already there but I had put a new roof on the frame. Not sure what else I can do except maybe build a whole new frame and roof and put another dryer under it to see if that works.

I noticed that the dryer works pretty good when you build it under a roof to protect the meat from rain. Even better when build inside a more complex structure like a closed hut.

How long before you notice the progress grey area start?
Wait 24 hours game time so go to sleep and check in the morning any progress at all?

If it's working at all you see progress within moments. It takes a while to complete but charcoal burner-ish

It did it again. I built a new frame, put a roof on it, built a dryer under it, killed a Peccary and immediately placed its meat to dry. It's been raining most of the time and the meat ended up spoiling instead of drying. That really sucks. What is the point of having dryers if they don't work?

How did you trap it and how long was the Peccary hanging in the trap before you harvested it.
The decaying timer starts from the moment they are trapped.

Sounds like a bug . Have you saved and quit the game then restart game from that save?
Sometimes this fixes these things.
If more players get this same problem then it should be reported.
Send your current save with OS details the nature of the problem and where you are etc to Creepy Jar.

Are you stacking your saves using just one slot?
Have you verified game files?

I'll check this dryer at the Anaconda and post back if I get that as well
My house at Anaconda starts the drying process immediately, its inside under shelter and its raining. I just killed him with a bamboo spear and immediately placed meat on the dryer.

Next the abandoned Village as that has the original dryer with hooks on back to front.. I'll be back :)
Works fine with mud roof
Try making soup broth from meat instead, use coconut bowls. Lasts indefinately.
It seems fried meat from capi lasts 4days longer than Tapir fried meat lasts 1 day

I already reported that and it's still not fixed.

I tell ya, think about this, mud update, chests huts.. what is the need for this while u have to move on and on.
They putted it in there for the co-op which will come later, but i expect that it's only building and exploring things we already know when co-op comes.
Not sure what co-op will mean in this game, not much to co-op with.

And i saw the story how it goes, and for the story part it's not worth it for me that is.. Just be honest, that's all. If it will be enough for you that's up to you.

Nope he is right.
Saw it happen with dryer, smoker and the bamboo smoker.
Also people tried to put it under something, didn't work, this is a bug already for a long time for some people. But it is not needed anyway to progress further

But the bamboo smoker should work in the rain because it has an own banana leaf roof but...... it does not.
That's not even talked about the dryer.

It's more like what i should do also... Copy the script from the normal fireplace, paste that in the bamboo smoker and get rid of the attach points for the fireplace, and change them.
But they forgot to fix the part in the script that it has it's own roof IF that is the case, but i saw it also don't work on a sunny day.

Progi doesn't own the game. Refunded it a long time ago. never reported anything either.There is no record of this so called report.
And there is only one smoker.

Wonder why i refunded it? Well i don't like it anymore so i am glad i did refunded it.

And about the 2 smokers, how the hell do i know.... i just watch it and sometimes i help him. So what. Dryer, bamboo rack. whatever...... They just don't work period.

Killed a turtle, and immediately put the meat on a bamboo drying station and it was spoiled by the time it finished "drying". Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me? During dry season I have been able to dry meat but not during the rainy season, even when my dryer is covered by a palm leaf roof.
