Even before the Story mode update I had several traps with capybura hanging there off the rope.
I left them there for a day and when I went to cut them down and harvest them their meat immediately spoilt.
Also applies to the dryer.
So the timers starts from the moment we harvest .
Open the backpack and hold mouse over the meat should show day/s left till spoils.
Decay Timer— Many items in the game will now start to wither and decay. Players will have to be vigilant learning to use their items before they expire.
Could also be bugged
I leave it on the rack 3 or 4 days and then eat straight up donot place in backpack.
Something I do, but don't tell the Devs, is let the meat burn.
Then you can keep it forever. You just have less nutrition and a small bit off sanity loss.
But standing close to a campfire neutralizes the negative effects.
You get no energy boost either and yet it weighs just as an edible one. Not a good strategy in my opinion especially if you plan to keep it in your backpack.
When I went back to the rack, that is; ten minutes later. All spoiled. They could had spoiled minutes before that.
I don't use drying racks anymore for meat. Not worth it. Probably a bug.
But that trick helps Jaunitta. Thanks.
I will use it. Better that wasting meat.
With my dried meat... I swear it was only hanging for 10 minutes max; which is less than a day. Just less than a day. And all my meat went to spoil once I took it off the rack.
