UPD:
You can add startup options by right click on game name in your Steam Library.

Couldn't this been bugfixed in game? Instead of having the potential buyer maybe find the solution in the forum. I was this close to requesting a refund due to technical problems but then I thought to have a quick look in the forum.

I also experienced this. What fixed it for me was using Proton 7.0-6

Thanks all! Adding "-screen-fullscreen 0 -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080" to the game startup options worked great for me too. On debian.
