A dynamic link library initialization routine failure for Changed and
there has been an error message showing up saying "A dynamic link library initialization routine failed" for the Changed game into the computer and won't load in. I've tried talking to Microsoft about this issue and we restarted the computer, repaired the computer, checked for updates on the computer, uninstalled and reinstalled Steam, uninstalled and reinstalled the game itself, but it doesn't seem to fix the issue. I also tried contacting Steam, but since it wasn't made by them they said it was out of their control. I was wondering if you know anything about this situation and how to solve it.

I meant to put changed and changed-special edition... I've also tried setting my laptop (windows 11) to high performance.

I have never found an exact cause or consistent solution for this, I'm sorry.

Generally lately it is said that Windows 11 is a bad idea to use due to the constant errors, low performance, etc. I think the game is not so compatible with any changes in that version

try windows 10

How do you make the game run on Windows 10? I tried looking at properties, but couldn't find anything.

Well, you can't just downgrade the OS just to play one VX game, but maybe we'll have a different solution soon

Sorry to barge into this question,
Have you tried compatibility mode to run the game?
Older computers had a feature where you could run software for older games on newer computers using compatibility mode by forcing the computer to run the game with an older OS code.
Not sure if that was ditched on new OS or not.

I tried searching for it. Unfortunately, I had no luck finding this feature. I do appreciate your assistance.

I just tested and I can confirm the game *can* work on Windows 11. I only played for a few minutes, but it worked without any issues.

DLL files contain code that other programs will "link" to and use. If you're being told that a DLL file failed to initialize, then it means you're either missing the necessary DLL (unlikely), the DLL is damaged somehow (also unlikely, but possible), or the DLL is crashing/locked.

Check that windows and drivers (if applicable) are up to date and try again. If that fails, try running the game as admin.

Does the game supports 64-bit Windows? I've decided to run the game on Dependency Walker and found that the game utilizes x86 CPU which is questionable. Windows 11 doesn't have 32-bit version.

Wish I could post the program screenshot here. Either way, I think (possibly wrong, hopefully wrong) that the game are able to run in 32-bit and not 64-bit Windows.

Edit: I forgot to mention that when I tried launch the game using compatibility troubleshooter, I still receive the same error (DLL initialization routine failed) but Windows says the game is incompatible. This strengthen my thoughts that the game can't run in 64-bit Windows.

It definitely works on other 64bit Windows and I think if it didn't work entirely on the most common OS, that would be a lot more well-known.

Or could this be hardware issue related? I'm using AMD Integrated graphic (Ryzen 5600G) as the GPU.
Chances are that these issues will be bypassed entirely in the future at least

Hopefully. Downgrading driver didn't fix the problem.
