What kind of blocks are these?

Just starting out here, and in tunneling down, I've run across these sort of sparkling blocks in red, blue, green, yellow, etc., that are way tougher to mine, but when I do mine them, nothing shows up in my inventory as if I didn't mine anything? What kind of blocks are these? And why am I not collecting them when mining?

I was mining with a stone pickaxe, and they weren't collected in my inventory. When I upgraded to Iron pickaxe, they finally showed up in inventory. I wasted a lot of time mining and not getting sapphire, emerald & gold blocks it seems

Yeah I do agree my husband and I have been playing for a month, we’re casual but haven’t had any luck finding gold ores either, we’ve been taking advice by going along the levels of where the lava dwells, but we haven’t found anything else other then iron and no other jewels :’(

Calm people, I know what they are talking about, but for so long playing voudar tips for you guys what to do !!

I played a lot of survival games and as everyone has more valuable top materials, logically than a primary tool would not succeed to have such miners and jewelry! haha

Do the following, when you start the game in Survival mode, you should at least focus on enough wood and stone, having these minerals and after you have made your home, start focusing on making a lot of stone pick, that's what you'll use more during the mining part, when you find iron pick up with the stone pick that will er 100% success of drop iron for you, now when you find these blocks, or ceanite (which is most used in the art of wired technology). You will only get them with an iron pick or higher!
If you use stone in the gold mine, you get only 1 or 0 of the gold that was mined, so do not do this, just use the iron pick or higher to mine valuable items, and the stone one only destroys stones and stones ! XD
Another tip is the trader that whenever he appears check what he has in the store, sometimes it is worth more pickaxe and diamond ax, than to buy armor, so keep an eye on it!
Now the block is really the most valuable and difficult is the diamond block that I will be informing you right now, that this block is the rarest to find, I already arrived in the last final layer of my worlds but the maximum that you find is 1 in the mei ode 500 blocks, so if you already veriico with them to leave game at least avoravel to diamond gold!

Thanks Furioso! and i also found out that if you mine until you see bedrock stone (its dark blue and you cant mine through it) At that level, just mine in one direction and you should run into different kinds of minerals :) hope this helps too :D

I just go down to about level 10 then start going forwards. I always eventually end up in a cave system where I find plenty of the rarer ores. (Listen out for the sound of lava - darned stuff is everywhere so be cautious mining if you can hear it. Always have a bucket of water handy to turn it into black crystal).

I found a neat tip is to face any wall, and mine the 2 blocks in front of you, then step into it. As long as you're surrounded in front and both sides by blocks, you can peer through the map layers and see all sorts of hidden things. When you get deeper into the map, you can see where the gold, diamonds, malachite, etc, and where the lava flows are located.

I noticed this bug once I used the train to go down the map, then used that same form, only you can only see the caves or what is free without other blocks, for example if you dig in a certain route down, and hear the sound of the lava, you only have to do this bug, and to see what location this place is in, now the bug does not help you to see blocks of diamonds or irons in the middle of the stone blocks, as in the image shows everything dark, bug helps you if you have caves around, but rest of the find valuable blocks does not give!
