Advice for defeating Champion Ornithopter?
I've been playing a Randomized game, and am stuck against a champion Ornithopter, about level 24. After the first turn, it can overshield itself every time so I can't touch its health bar at all. I've tried a few variations with Arachlich (for blind and multi-chill) but since it gets three actions I can't slow down its shielding enough to make a difference. At this point, I have access to about half the monsters; Blade Widow does great here, but isn't quite enough.
Apart from over-leveling, any suggestions?

It's weak against earth so you could give the classic fungi, fungi, troll setup a shot if you happen to have both of those. Fungi stacks poison and debuffs and then Troll follows up with poison eater. Agriope is also worth looking at too since it provides both tether to counter the champ's agility buff and can also inflict poison.

In terms of general strategy Ornithopter doesn't have much in the way of offensive stats but is as you found out pretty sturdy so you'd want to try and outscale it. The tricky part is that it strips buffs so you'll want to rely on debuffs and stack mechanics like charge or age instead of just buffs.

Do you have access to a support with Heal Charging? Caraglow and King Blob(rainbow) would be my picks if you happen to have them. The objective would be to give your damage dealer as many charge stacks as possible and just nuke the champion in a single turn.

There are people there who will have better suggestions than me.

The major issue is that enemy shielding is extremely oppressive in this game. Randomizer really brings out the flaws in this regard, as I can't defeat a level 25 Glowfly champion with a level 40 team because it gets 100% shielding on itself every single turn just from using normal moves. It can't hurt me, but I can't kill it, either. It's ridiculously stupid. It's not just you.

I managed to get by the 'thopter with a Bleed Out strategy, thanks to a Dark Rampede. Since shields max out and stacks don't, I worked them down eventually.
It is amusing that randomly selected bosses run the gamut from '5 star without prep' to 'ready to rage quit' challenges. XD
