Anyway to make the game harder than master?
There are about 30ish comps I've made that could beat master, with just 3 monsters. I've literally never used my backrow, I don't even put gear on them, cept for the 4-6 times I've pvp'ed. Of those 30ish, about 15 of them are fun for me and of those 30ish about 5 of them could beat master without even using accessories probably... probably. (The Covid-666 crew could 100% beat the game naked and 5 star most bosses on master.) lol "probably"

So really once you have a grasp of what is good and what it's good with the game becomes WAY to easy, and starting over on master with NG+ isn't terribly hard either. Like really you can just B-line to something decent and start obliterating everything and I'm in the camp of if it's not at least good enough to play in normal I won't try to force it into master. Cause in some cases it will work but in most cases it just feels forced and un-enjoyable when I do that to myself.

So all that to say, anyway to tweak master in the game files or something? Like up their stats some more, could you just make a new difficulty by copying the code and adding a few tweaks. I feel like in master if they don't kill me on their first attack I win 99% of the time with simply an average group and if you play some ♥♥♥♥ like bleed, or goblins, a meme weakness build even that you just can't lose really. 7 stacks of weakness is quite funny. =D

Hit my up super talkative developer person! I need your help. I want your game to punish me for believing in the Brutus fist of justice! Make the weakness less weak for enemy mons and make them immune to ♥♥♥♥ they are strong against. Just imagine me as the weirdo in Watchmen running around screaming "PUNISH ME, PUNISH ME!"

NG+ also feels bad starting with a competent crew but feels a bit lame starting with without one as well, weird position for me to be in.

Have you tried playing any of the alternate game modes on master difficulty? Bravery mode in particular can make things more difficult because you don't have access to every single monster in the game.

I found doing a NG+ Bravery + Rando run to be too spicy for me. You can even add permadeath on top of that if you're really crazy.

I have not tried it to be fair but I feel like losing monsters would take away a massive part of the games identity if that makes sense? Bravery is too much for me and I know that. Losing a something I worked on for more than 5 hours really bums me out. Why I only played Ark PvP for like 5 hours and 1 minute. =D

I would really just like to make master difficulty a little ahrder and I think it would be challenging enough for the comps that actually do really feel good to play.

I like bravery because forces me to use monsters I normally don't. You might even end up with some of your favorites too if you get lucky.

From what you're saying it sounds like you know a lot about the game, so I think you'll manage just fine with a random squad of monsters. Your first Bravery run doesn't have to be on master either.

The other neat thing about the mode, especially if you use it in combo with the Randomizer, is that you can start the game with monsters you'd never have access to normally. In my first BraveRando I ended up getting Mad Lord in the Stronghold Dungeon.

You should really try doing a BraveRando. It's more fun than you might think and will test your game knowledge way more than just upping the HP and damage of the PvE encounters.

I'll try it tonight and do a run and see how it feels, thanks for the advice, I'll get back with you when I die horribly or start winning. =D

Just FYI make sure you talk with the Monster Army NPC once you reach the stronghold. He has a completely different and very useful function if you're playing bravery mode.

Guy who finished the game with just 3 Monsters anyways says what ?:ImoriBlep:

No honestly now.
If you can beat the game with just 3 Monsters then taking Monsters away is something you shouldnt even notice. After all you took out all but 3 Monster yourself before. In fact that should add the challenge youre looking for because now youre at the mercy of RNG and when RNG wont give you any of your comps then thats good aint it ?

To be fair i just finished a complete random run .....it was easy. In fact the basic playtrough is harder. Why ? Everything is random even the Alchemist Teams and Chamion Monsters. Hell my last Boss was a damn Sheep......A SHEEP !

I mean once I had the team of three I wanted I never changed them except to try other teams of three. Like the three werenn't just 3 random monsters they were coherent groups that did gods good work. lol

I did do a few random runs through, I haven't completed Bravery yet, I tend to get an idea for a team mid way through and then go to one of my other saves and mess around with it and then get sad I can't have it in my current bravery games.

I wasn't really bragging at all. Was just saying there are comps that simply don't care about much, cept the ultra catzerker. =D

If it comforts you the difficulty of a pure random runs can be explained as followed:
" I used a damn Jeti as a Healer. For the whole run."

Sure the mode can sc.rew you over but for the most part its hilarious. :ImoriBlep:

I just got every achievement on steam for the game. I did complete Bravery Run. I started a run with every box check and just realized I was postponing the sadness of being done with the game and finally stopped. I appreciate everyone idea's. I really hope they revisit this IP in the future it was by far the best monster hunter game and accompanying battle system I've ever engaged with. Hope the next game that comes out from them is as good.

Well maybe you are just good at this kind of game but game is very very very hard to me so i think master being the hardest is very fair. I cant beat dracozul and game on casual cant believe beating him on master ever.

Well. The only other option i can think of would be doing Monster Type runs like for example Slime Only or Goblins only.

I mean, I could reccomend a few teams to you based on your preferred way of fighting? Brutus (Giant monkey, looks like Rajang from monster hunter) is always a good choice for a front liner. He does tons of dmg and is naturally tanky so you don't need to build much tank into him at all.
A big problem I had early on was worrying about defense too much. Targoat is the G.O.A.T. for a tank in the front line if you like that kind of play style. He spread charge stacks like no one's business.
Frost Slime is good in any group for just raw damage.

There are loads of combo's that really just kinda delete everything. I'm not saying I didn't struggle either there were plenty of fights that stumped me and did so to the point where it forced me to rethink everything and how to go at the fight. There is this secret ultra catzerker fight that I'm not sure when or how you make it open up, but it's basically a Catzerker cheating literally. And it's a boss with all kinds of unfair buffs and I beat him with just three non crit brutus with fingers crossed. I honestly have no clue how to beat that fight without just throwing your face at it and getting lucky crits.

This game was truly amazing and after they are done with the game they are almost finished with I hope they make a part 2 with more monsters and what not, this game was amazing, easily in my top 10, maybe top 5?

Yeah Godzerker is the game's secret super boss after all. He's pretty scary unless you know exactly what you're doing. The really tricky thing about him is that he snowballs very quickly. The faster you can KO him the better.

Some savants from the community have figured out how to beat him in one turn though.

If you want more info about how:
(L)Fungi + (D)G'rulu + (L)Troll
I don't know the exact builds but you use Fungi and G'rulu to load up the target with poison and armor break and then use Troll's "Poison Eater" to do obscene amounts of damage.
