Most of those locations speak English. Let's not pretend most of Europe don't speak English and that English dub isn't the most common
Since English is recognized as the international language that almost every country needs to know for air travel, trade, port authorities, customs, ect... It would have been the smart choice. Especially if you plan to sell in most of the western markets.
Personally, I'd rather look at whats going on on screen and not have to focus on text.
Usually im not bothered by subtitles in cutscenes but when they're occuring during gameplay its very jarring
That is just anime snobbery
I myself have difficulty connecting with characters whenever I don't understand the nuances and inflections that subtitles can not emulate. Its also objectively more difficult to read and game at the same time than game and listen
I got it on Fanatical last week for $20. Im definitely not mad at that price. I woulda refunded if I payed full price. Its a decent game with good animations. I have to play with the voices muted because IMO, although the Japanese voice actors are the "real" voice actors, they dont fit the characters whatsoever to the point of it being annoying. So the game basically turns into a interactive manga game. I would play it more but it takes place around episode ~850 and I am only on episode ~130, so I dont even know whats going on in the game really. Honest review lol
Yes
lol original voices sound like japanese men and women yelling on white guy characters.. it makes no sense at all and yes, english is the most used language by far and throughout the most nations. It isnt even close.
It wouldn't be subbed into other languages if it was intended for just Japanese. At the end of the day, its just lazy. God forbid they cater to their fans
