Tomb Raider: Underworld

Tomb Raider: Underworld - Thailand, Bhogavati, Naga Statue Bug
There a bug I am actually fighting with. Read that some other people also got it. Its the part when you solve the shiva puzzle (light beams) and walk under it. There you need your hook to pull down a naga statue.

But no matter how hard you try to do this, the naga statue wont fall. Its really frustraiting. Is there any solution to this?

(TRU, patch version 1.1, steam download, win 7 64 bit)

I got it totally random. I stood in front of the statue and farthest possible.
Then in one point, statue just fell...

Yeah. Read that tip before. THer is just one correct spot, where you have to stand and then pull it. But i dont wanna waste more time on this ♥♥♥♥. I got myself a savegame file just one step further into thailand. So i will just skip this one crappy naga statue.

Still thanks for your comment, bro.

This is ridiculous. Numerous load saves and even another full play through. How does such a debilitating bug not have a bypass.

When you hooked the statue, keep hitting fast the E button(default, pull)

plz dont skip any part the wall will come down, i had some trouble also but it did fall, mexico level's will be tuff the bike is a timed event and the puzzles may seem hard you dont need someone's save game to play.

I pulled from every point on the floor and it never fell. I put a grenade on the back of the statue and it worked.

It works thanks Bro

At last, was just gona go for the grenade job as above. Went back into game, walked directly toward statue, soonas I could grapple I did, then kept hammering E as walked s-l-o-w-l-y backward. You then see when the statue starts to move. Annoying but glad others have found the way past this too. Cheers for the help all =)

Yeah it's buggy...have to stand in this exact...or super close to it...spot. This was from the tomb raider forum discussing this same issue.

Discussion: "NOTE: I found this section a bit temperamental in the PC game. Unless Lara was standing in just the right spot, no amount of pulling would topple the statue. So if you're having the same problem, refer to the previous screenshot, which also shows the proper positioning for pulling down the statue. Also try tapping the Interact key repeatedly instead of just holding it down."

Wow, it worked just after smash madly the E key (it has to be very quick). Thank you very much, Crimson :-)

After searching a bunch of help forums, I found several soutions that have been proposed for this Bug, including downloading game save files, repeatedly pressing E, etc.
BUT the simplest solution that worked for me was to go to the MAIN MENU, select AUDIO/VISUAL, DISPLAY Settings, and then turn on VSYNC. This Immediately solved the problem for me, and I was able to continue. In my case, the Steam Download had this setting OFF by default.

Thank you. This WORKS! Others don't. Grenade method fails. Right spot method fails.

It doesn't matter if V-sync was on or off. Toggling the state of v-sync magically moves the naga statue. (I went from Vsync off to on.) You got to love old games with magical bugs.
