Tomb Raider: Underworld

Tomb Raider: Underworld

Possibly an FOV fix/mod for this?
It's either an FOV or a framerate issue (or the wacky camera) but i can't play this very long at all without getting a bit motion-sick.

Go into steam settings and disable steam input for youre controller.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out and see if it helps.

Hmm, I looked and "Enable Steam Input for Xbox Controllers" was already off.

What effect does turning Steam Input off have, anyway? Does it make the camera less "all over the place"?

It made it much smoother for me. I have an Xbox too. I also have Vsync on. Limiting your fps may help too. Cap at 60.

Ah, that could be the issue (having it run at more than 60 fps). Is that an in-game setting? I remember it giving me a little dialog box to set some things the first time I ran it but don't know how to go into that dialog box again.

You can set Vsync in game settings but to cap fps you have to use the control panel for your video card. You can also adjust your affinity using Task Manager. It depends on your machine. If you have a high end one, it's probably running way too fast for this old game. Capping fps and reducing cores it's running may help.

Edit: I have an older comp so I have no problems as long as I enable Vsync. My monitor refresh is 60 so I just match that in fps by having Vsync on. Vsync won't do it of you have a monitor with a really high refresh. It may also be your resolution.

I'm using an ASUS G-Sync monitor that I normally run in 120 Hz for games, yeah. Figured out how to limit the frame rate to 60 through the Nvidia control panel when playing and that helped with the wacky camera issue but the FoV is still too narrow for me, still makes me queasy. Even watching a YouTube video of gameplay does. My res is 2560 x 1440. I've looked for a mod to adjust the FoV but haven't yet found one. Oh well. If there's a remaster at some point I suppose they'll make the FoV adjustable.

Well maybe try changing your res or you might be able to change FOV in the config file. Beyond that I'm not sure what else you can do.

Is there a config file? I didn't see an obvious .cfg file when I looked in the game's directory.

I believe it's in Documents.
