- verify game integrity
- run as admin
- runs in compatibility mode
- update all drivers
- reinstall game

hopefully one of those will help

I'm posting this here, as I yesterday had the same error message for ALL Tomb Raider games after AoD (bought the entire package these days, mid-week madness offer).

THIS FIX IS FOR YOU, IF YOU HAVE YOUR STEAM FOLDER ON AN EXTERNAL HARDD!RIVE

This is what did the trick for me - nothing else (no "xp compatibility mode", no "run as admin", none of all the other fixes discussed here and in various other TR forums).

Since my games are on external HD, this solution here assumes you are running the game from a drive other than your C:\ drive (i.e. an external HD like mine). I think it has something to do with the partitioning or the drive lettering.

I moved the installed file from my external drive to my C:\ drive using the SteamMover tool (http://www.traynier.com/software/steammover). You can run the tool while Steam is running. Just set the move path to something like...

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common

SteamMover will create a dynamic link that Steam will recognize. All you have to do then is run the game.

I had tried just about every fix in the book and found this solution while searching the net yesterday. It has worked for all Tomb Raider games after AoD (until AoD, this fix is not required, and the game will launch from my external HD without any issues). It thus should be considered a viable option if you're having similar problems with other games.

Hope this helps!

Getting this problem, searched the whole internet for a solution, nothing works.

None of this worked.

Tried SteamMover, which, for whatever reason, works for any game except this one. It opens the command prompt, does a few lines, and just stops, eventually resulting in an error after a few minutes.

Any ideas?

For the record, my specs are definitely up to par (don't want to post it all, but I've played more taxing games than this just fine, and I've also gotten Tomb Raider: Anniversary to work, which didn't have this problem).

I can't run this game on my Windows 10 PC. What kind of system do I need to run this game?

since this is a steam download, shouldn't this be addressed by steam? and if not how does visual c come into play for my steam purchased game?

Fix: Uninstall>Reinstall to C:/ drive. Done

same here everything tried to the best of my ability (long time computer user, but still beginner)
Thanks for any future help. I looked at the visual c++ installed. I am not sure if I have what is required and I am not vested in my computer skills enough to update manually Microsoft files to have it corrupt my system.

how do you install to specific directory through steam?

Still looking for a solution to this. I contacted Steam a while back and I think they offered some solutions like contacting the software manufacturer(no place on website to do so). or they offered a refund. I just want to get it to work

I confirmed I`M4REAL solution to this problem- Install on C:\ drive

I originally installed Underworld in my steam library in other than a C:/ drive. Started game and ran into Error Out of Table Range message. Did a file verify, reinstall not fix issue. Search google and ended here. Read I`M4REAL message and problem fixed. Underworld now installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam. I am running Win10.

Mind you, I only got program to start. Seems there are potentially other issues?
