Tomb Raider: Underworld

Tomb Raider: Underworld

Can I play on Mac?
I was just wondering. I've heard some people say I can, and I want to check.

Tomb Raider Underworld is not compatible with the Apple macOS operating system. Only Microsoft Windows OS can run this game.

You could solve this by installing Windows on your Mac with the Bootcamp utility.

Check the store box, specifically the boxes that have the buy-buttons. There are icons for supported platforms -- and all you can find there is a Windows icon. Thus, no MacOS version (on Steam, anyway).

Thanks. I heard that the Steam version of this game was the Feral version, which obviously has great compatibility with Mac and Windows.

Feral versions (32 bits ports for MacOS) of TR Anniversary + TE underworld are compatible with MacOS Mojave (10.14.x) but are no longer compatible with today strict 64bits MacOSes (Catalina 10.15.x and Big Sur 11.x). Underworld is buyable on the Apple app store, Anniversary is (was ?) buyable on Feral web site. So it depends of your MacOS version…
In my case, for upgrading from Mojave to Big Sur, I installed Windows 10 on a secondary drive and have rebuyed a Steam version of both these games. Looks like a real regression : bad gamepad support (PS4) and so on…

To make it worse, the M1 Macbooks have trouble even launching Steam and some games won't even work on those despite working on Intel based Macbooks. I know there's x86-64 to ARM emulation (which results in performance loss when Mac games already are less optimized than Windows), but that's a double edged sword.

Apple has shown time and time again that they don't care about gamers and their sour relations with gaming companies like Nvidia and Epic Games only proves it further to everyone that their devices just aren't suited for gaming. I'd rather get a Switch to play games than on Mac, and I freaking hate that console.
