Tomb Raider: Underworld

Mediterranean sea, Fire door puzzle. Game breaking bug or am I just stupid
You know where I'm at, and I know I'm supposed to put the two stone cubes on the left side floor switch. But every time, I pick them up, walk over, and when I put them down (keyboard CTRL) they fly away from me. So, am I doing this wrong, using the wrong button or what?

Secondly, I know I'm supposed to use the grapple (Q) on the second statue and rip the head off. I read (here in the forum) while I'm using the grapple to press E, but nothing happens, no matter how many times I try (and from different places as well).

So, any help would be appreciated.

So after lots of searching I found a solution that seems to work. I set the game to run in compability mode with Windows XP SP3, and so far I can get passed the Fire door puzzle.

So in case anyone else wants to know how to set it to compability mode, here's how:

Go to the folder with the game, here on steam you can just right click the game name, click properties and go to the tab "Local files", there you'll find a button to open the folder with the game files.
Right click the file named "tru.exe", go to the compability tab and I think you guys know how to do the rest.

Now just start the game from steam and se if it works for you.

Lock the game to 60 FPS. Some games (like Far Cry 2 too) have physics issues when above 60 FPS.

V-Sync and Triple Buffering on should fix the issues.

I have tried all of these suggestions but boxes just fly away. Also after i put the boxes down it seems like she falls into the ground a little. Any ideas?

There is a guide called "How to Fix Flying Blocks". Well worth reading. Essentially enable Vsync, as follows:

To enable V-Sync:
Select [AUDIO/VISUAL] from the ingame Main Menu.
Select [DISPLAY SETTINGS].
Set the [VSYNC] option to [ON]

Thanks for the advice but I have already tried that as mmmu suggested in a previous comment.
