Deathmatch Training Grounds Patch - Test Server Feedback
We will be bringing the test server online for the new Patch, known as the "Deathmatch Training Grounds" soon. Patch Notes can be found here. Please leave all feedback within this thread!

Known Issues
  • You can currently queue into the Deathmatch Training Grounds as a team of four.
  • Eliminated Chickens will still appear on the ground but cannot be damaged. Affects all modes.

Training in the Battle Royale? Sounds interesting, keep it up! But now smg is completely useless. Just reduce fire rate and return damage!?

Really like the Idea of a Training-Ground. Testing weapons an new strats etc. is really important in Battle Royale. Since your only Aim-Training is the battleground itself. Nice job HiRez

Put more loot please!
You have created different types of houses, temples, etc. to place in these booties, but the problem is that the booty is not put in the same way in all houses, temples, etc. of the same type and this makes the potions chests are scarce (we have to be 100% sure at least that they give us 1 health potion and 1 shield potion) (if they had 2 health / 2 shield would be great and nothing it would cost them and generate happiness in the community) (At least all the big houses, temples, etc. need a potion box) and also that it is not possible for the same chest to give us a repeated object such as a double helmet or double shotguns .

The new mode would be better if it were in solitary mode and squadron but not in duo and would be much split the tails

At some point in the match I respawned in t-pose with no armor, weapons or abilities and I couldn't mount up or attack. I died a few more times but when I tried to loot something, it all came back.

TTK is good

Heres some class balance changes i'd like to mention:

rework engi and warri passive and give all classes 2-3hp/s base life reg

warrior: decrease white leap dmg, give charge a scaling instead of 400 dmg white charge to reduce the early game strength of warrior

assa: increase cd on ghostwalk and decrease dmg of the sniper to 1000 ( his overall kit is just too good right now )

Hunter: give him some vertical mobility somehow? :X

mage: not sure how strong the new staff is yet we'll see



please remove the automatic guns i think the majority of the community doesnt want them, if my guess is right and you want more aim forgiving guns for the console port why not just increase the projectile size on the slug etc. for the console port to make it easier? Crossplay wont ever work anyway because mouse is just so much better.

Balancewise i think the AR and smg are better now but id rather not have them at all.

Other than that the deathmatch mode is alright, it would be better if the map had only 2-3 forges or maybe even just 1 ? like force the area to be trinity or sentinel or whatever with fog or make a fog circle right from the start with only 3 forges available .

first 10-15 minutes of the game i didnt even see any people.

The deatchmatch feels a little unpolished. it's hard to see how much time is left, this causes the games to end abruptly, a "x minute(s) remaining" anouncement could help with this.

it's also not very easy to see who is the top scorer or how other teams are doing in comparison to you or how well your team is doing. i feel like a scoreboard screen that you can bring up similair to the map is essential for this type of game mode.

The training mode is great, but the queue should be solo.

Teams gets extremely unbalanced with all the leavers and crashes. It is by definition a training mode, so people don't invest in it, but it becomes impossible to practice when the teams become skewed.

If you have a Hunter's Legendary Weapon equipped, it does not "sheathe" properly and floats awkwardly to the side of Hunter as they drop.

After my first game, I could not return to lobby properly.

Hunters need some help... hardly anyone plays them for a reason.

Here are some suggestions for things that would help hunters:
1. Decrease time to reach full charge on hunter bow. This would make it more usable in mid to close range. Currently it is only viable far range w/ these high dmg hitscan weaps in game.

2. Allow abilities to be used while charging the bow. If I need to dodge mid pullback, then I have to start over w/ charging the bow or take the damage. This is a major loss of DPS that doesn't occur with any other class.

3. Improve blastshot. It either needs more dmg or more splash damage. Currently it is usually a DPS loss to use it mid-combat and is only used to poke people behind walls on corners for a couple hundred damage. Not worth taking.

4. Make dodge and withdraw go a bit further (maybe 20%) to give extra mobility. Currently, if someone like a mage or warrior jumps on you, if you withdraw, they usually can still see you unless you use both dodge and withdraw to get sufficiently far away. Same w/ dodge, you don't go far enough to really create space if jumped on.

Any or all of these would help the hunter quite a bit without being overpowered.

Hello Hi-Rez,

What I am reading here really saddens me.

First, let me say that giving us the silent treatment over the last days did not feel great. You guys were so consistent and fast providing your community with feedback and now, you've unleashed hell on Friday and stood silent until today. A simple statement like you did few weeks ago stating that you are aware of the issues but still want to go through the weekend for testing would have been enough.

Second, please consider not making major updates on the on Friday because this is the second weekend that the state of the game is in bad shape and people who are looking forward to playing some Realm Roayle whole weekend are being let down.

Third, let's talk about the changes. As I see it, instead of removing the core issue - hitscan and auto weapons, you are desperately trying to balance it and integrate it in the game. I am very sorry to hear that you are not aware of the real value of your game. What furthermore surprises me more is that you ignore the most important feedback from your community. Don't get me wrong, this is my favorite game but at this stage, I don't consider it better than any of its competitors. If I wanted to play "Spray & Pray" I will definitely not come to play Realm Roayle. Relying on skill shots (projectile weapons), the utility of skills, the medieval feel and the lack of automatic weapons was the real beauty, the thrill to have to craft the most powerful weapon and use it - this was the unique experience Realm Roayle provided. And now you are not only adding auto weapons, making them hitscan but you are also destroying the heirloom rifle and the revolver. It feels bad that this looks like another week that I would have to sit out (not playing) because of the state of the game. I am really hoping you would hear us and change the things like they used to be. If you insist on adding automatic weapons I believe they should be projectiles and they should be relatively bad, with low damage, lower than current fire rate and much much lower range. I'd say that in general, you would do this game a favor if you remove hitscan completely and never mention it again. I am very fond of this game and it would be a disaster if you lose it in the process of trying to make it "modern shooter". We do not need another modern shooter, we have plenty. I enjoy playing and providing feedback in order to try to make the game a better place but until those core issues are resolved I am losing my desire to play I believe many more share my opinion.
With the introduction of hitscan and automatic weapons, I felt like my skills have degraded. It does not feel the same. It's now dull, repetitive and boring. The only thing you do is loot SMG or AR and hold left click until someone drops dead - no skills required, no aiming required, the range does not matter as you can do it from far away. Tell me now, if common weapons can do more damage than legendaries, why would I bother crafting them? If a weapon looted from chest could do more DPS than my ultimate weapon, what exactly is the point of my class weapon? Why would I bother to craft it?
Even now, after the nerfs we still have the same issues. Yes, it's a little less damage, and the TTK is a bit higher but so what - it's still a bad experience, it still does not require skill to play, it still undermining the value of the game. This experience is even worse 2v2 and it's the worst in 4v4 - 4 people jumping on you and spray on you.

Finally, I would like to apologize if my comments felt a little offensive. I think you are doing good work and you are doing the best you can. I am 100% sure that this game would turn out great I just would like to see it happen sooner rather than later.
