Bringing back the Engineer

Hi everyone! I've been thinking about the engi a lot since he was one of people's favorite classes (not mine, actually) and I'm pretty sure MANY people would love him to come back to the game. Under some conditions, though.

Here's how I think he should make his great re-entry:

1. No Thrust as it was. That ability must be for ever forgotten and forbidden.

2. New movement abilities:
- Slide: Rocket-assisted sliding shoes (Just like the ones in Tribes: Ascend) that help the player slide around as fast as if he/she was riding his/her mount (With limited turning radius). They can work for up to 3 seconds, the ability can be cancelled and ignores slow effects.
- Escape shuttle: The engineer pulls out a small aerostatic balloon that quickly lifts him up in the air to the same height a mage can soar upwards, then the balloon pops and the engineer dives wherever he wants just like in the first dive. He can't shoot during the whole process. The height at which the ballon pops may be adjusted by devs to make sure the player can't go extremely far by using this ability and others can still try and predict where he/she will land.

3. Offhand abilities:
- Bring back the turret just as it was.
- Grappling hook: As firebomb is now a mage ability, the engineer could have perks for a grappling hook ability that pulls other players towards the caster and leaves him/her at a fair distance to be shot at (Not just besides the caster but at least outside the range of a sword). It'd have two main drawbacks: A small hitbox so that it's not so easy to land on the enemy and some miliseconds delay between the use of the ability and the caster switching back to his/her weapon.

4. Weapons:
- Recycle the burst rifle for the engineer by adding a 2x sight system on it.


The whole thing should look like this:

ENGINEER:

- Slide and Escape shuttle have 35% faster cooldown time.
- Passive armor regen up to 300. (You'll have to use potions beyond 300 armor and if you have more than 300, it won't regen at all).
- 20% extra damage with Plasma Launcher, Burst Rifle and Shotgun.
- 20% extra reload speed with weapons that shoot bullets/slugs/shells.
- Barrier lasts 1 more second at all rarity levels, 15% Extra damage for the turret and Grappling hook deals 300 damage when it hits its target.

Hope my ideas don't seem too insane and we can finally have the Engineer back. I'm eager to read your comments and suggestions about my post.

Some nice ideas.

- Passive armor regen up to 300. (You'll have to use potions beyond 300 armor and if you have more than 300, it won't regen at all).

That could work!

I like it! Sounds more balanced than the other classes right now, and I think it could work.

the moment they took him out the game i quited thats just the truth this game made such a down peek compared to wher it was in the start many players already left this game aside for other games with just alot beter content havent y see the new upcomming battle royale games ? many are waiting for them and just playing wow/bdo/fortnite/cod/battlefield at the moment bec there is just noting beter currently out to play . just give up the game is dead in my eyes thats just the truth .

Actually, the down peek came when they patched Engi's thrust and he could literally stay in the air as long as he wanted if he crafted the legendary ability. Besides, the plasma blaster was so OP that the combination of both of those things was unbeatable. In fact, 70 ~ 80% of the games were won by engineers so people who didn't like/know how to use the engi just quit the game.
