[SPOILERS(?)] What's the stopwatch?

So i defeated the final boss and got the stopwatch but it doesn't show in my inventory? Is it supposed to be there or is it intended to not show up in your inventory?

It's not an inventory item, it's a permanent multi-save-slot unlock that lets you see your save slot's playtime, both in the main menu and in-game (for the latter effect, you might need to toggle the new setting in the settings menu).
