If you do not, i'd recommend spending more time in the bottom screen of the fast travel hub. It might make traversal a bit easier.
Hint 2 : There's something to figure out there that will allow you to get back to the fast travel hub whenever you want.
Hint 3 : It has to do with the Flute.
Hint 4 : To play a song on the Flute, you don't have to keep holding the button. Press directions first, then press and let go of the flute button, then let go of directions and press the new ones. (Or keep holding the old ones if you want to repeat a note.)
I'm guessing the "bear head" that isn't open is the one on the left?
The symbols appear in a lot of places, often to indicate what a green button will activate, but the only times they're relevant to this will be in the factory area the cats are in.
I'm pretty sure that's not a thing? I know you encountered an ostrich, but did you throw the firecrackers at the ostrich or at some other animal?
It's difficult to help more without some screenshots of your map, but have you, from the egg collection room, gone one screen right, then one screen up, then explored the rooms near there?
I can't help you with either of these without screenshots of your map, because
I do have that achievement from calling the hamster things with the flute and having them carry me around, but I don't know how that relates to the room under the fast travel hub.
The fast travel hub is the room with the animal heads, right?
The only thing I've seen in the room under it is some green fish that dances out of the water.
I figured I had to be missing something like that.
There was no way the traversal was as tedious as far into the game.
I did know that, but the only things I've been able to do with the flute is open the animal head mouths and wake up/call the chubby hamsters.
Nope. Middle right.
I just threw it in its general direction and it went away. Not sure if there was any other animal on the screen. Could be.
Here's my map.

Thanks again for the help.
You're correct about which room i was talking about.
Hints for that thing : You'll need to play a specific song on the flute. As in, you'll need to play specific notes in a specific order.
Hint 2 : Since you need to play a specific song, there must be a way to figure out that song.
Hint 3 : The song is 8 notes long.
Hint 4 : Is there anything in the room that might hint at a song?
Hint 5 : You've said it yourself, there's only one thing in that room.
Alright, here's a few hints for where you can progress :
---Disk hint---
You've been in the room where it was, you can get to it from the egg collection room, by going one screen right, one screen up, and two screens left.
---Green area hints---
Hint 1 : You can do more in the room that's located three screens left of the area's phone room on your map.
Hint 2 : Try standing on the wooden platform in that room.
---Bottom-right area hints---
Hint : You can open the door in the cat room, you already have all the items you need.
Hint 2 : The cats are irrelevant to opening that door.
Hint 3 : For the top-left button, you'll need to get there when the dog(?) platforms are going up. (Moving platforms with the same symbol always move in the same direction as all the other ones..)
---Top-left area hint---
You have everything you need to progress in the room to the right of the "bear head" room. (It's actually a statue of a dog head, not a bear.)
Thanks for all that.
I'll give it a go tonight.
I also figured the Konami-code-copycat to teleport to the animal heads room.
I thought the "clrcular indentation" would have to do with the disc but apparently not. I did notice that in taking the disc I left a "fake disc" (or something to that effect) behind.
I have yet to revisit the cats room, the switches that required the disc, or reach the area behind the (very chunky) dog head, but at least I'm no longer stuck.
Thanks again!
BTW, I could not figure out what's this green area in which I'm missing something three screens to the left of the phone.
