Is there anything else in the room with two guards?

There's a room with two guards in it (the purple guys with the spears and shields that you can hit from behind with a yo-yo to make them drop their spear and shield).

I've already gotten the chest in here, but in the bottom left corner, you can entice one of the guards to fall into the water. He doesn't die down there. He just wanders around barely submerged in the water. You can even jump on his head without failing into the water.

Does anyone know if there's anything else going on in this room?

Also, what do you call these guys?
