Black screen every 10 seconds

While playing the game, every 10-20 seconds the screen will go black and freeze for a moment. Things are still happening in the game (I can feel them in my controller) but nothing visible on screen for that moment. Happens in both fullscreen and windowed mode.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed and haven't had this issues in any other games. Any ideas?
