infinite jump/distance glitch
if you use the bubble wand right after you jump, you can land on the bubble, which can be repeated infinitely.

what part of it do you think wasn't intended? being able to blow a bubble in mid air? being able to cast another bubble after the one you've been standing on popped? It doesn't make sense for any of this movement tech to be accidental. Especially given how easy it is to sequence break / cheese rooms by standing on the disc. I highly doubt the dev somehow missed something as simple as 'jump off a bubble then blow another before you descend'.

it is a glitch. it makes no sense to allow it when the upgraded bubble clearly serves that purpose. in fact in some ways it is better than the upgraded bubble. he just never thought to press both jump and bubble button at the same time. and now his fanboys are trying to defend this. its kinda funny, but also sad. like, just admit it was something you didn't intend. it doesnt mean you made any less of a good game
Bro there is no way. Most people figure out you can do this within minutes of finding the bubble wand. You think for a second that this dude didn't find that out himself in HUNDREDS of hours of testing? That is incredibly absurd. This isn't wall-jumping in Super Metroid where the inputs are precise and unintuitive, this is an intended mechanic.

It's not too hard to pull off and yet it makes the player feel accomplished and as if cheesing the game. That's brilliant game design actually.

I didn't even figure that out, but instead realized you can actually jump off the bubble without it popping if you run off the side. You then can land on it after it gained a bit of height then repeat. I did that over and over instead to reach higher areas. Just doing jump and bubble at the same time is way easier.

I see it as sort of like the no-powerup wall jump in the original Super Metroid. Something intentional, but also intentionally somewhat difficult to do. If you want to bypass stuff, you can use the harder method; or you can wait until you get the upgrade that makes it easier.

For the love of- THE DEVELOPER HAS STATED IN INTERVIEWS HE WANTS THERE TO BE SPEEDRUN EXPLOITS!

yeah this whole discussion has only convinced me even further that this was not intended. i would have to see documented proof at this point to believe it was intended. it sounds like the developer is trying to save face by pretending he planned this whole thing all along.

Was it intentional: Apparently, according to interviews.
Does it cause bugs: No.
Does it let you get anywhere invalid/broken: No.
Does it cause anything bad at all: No.
Is there anything preventing you from using it to cheese through the whole game: Yes, vines and hummingbirds.

Sure doesn't sound like a glitch to me, just some tight game design which allows players to feel like they're outsmarting the game.

It's required tech to meet the speedrun unlocks. There's your proof.

that's exactly what a developer would say if they said they put all this time and effort into doing smart things and then people discovered a glitch that lets you bypass a large majority of it

So you're saying the dev really is smart? Damn, what high praise, I guess you think the game's pretty good then if you're calling it smart. 😊

oky honey go watch any speedrun right now and the bubble is used to skip 99% of the game.

they are even using it to go straight up a 1-tile area by shooting it down and jumping up over and over

it is so obviously a glitch that i feel sorry for the stans trying to defend this
