Lost M Disc

Is it somehow possible to lose the Mock disc? I know I had it at one point, as I remember getting it and the treasure chest where it was is opened, but I must have "swapped" it somewhere else other than the big cat statue, as now only the "regular" disk is in the cat statue triggering the chase when I take it.

My guess is I must have used it somewhere else but don't know or remember where. It's not in my inventory and, as mentioned, the treasure chest in the room above the cat statue is open, further confirming that I had the M disk at one point.

This whole thing with the disc is very confusing. I've seen how you then have to trigger the cat to chase you in order to put in dog/wolf statue, but somehow that room up top (where there is a lone firecracker) is different when others play it, as it looks like you're supposed to dynamite the walls there, but I can't figure out how to get to the other side of that wall.

This also happened to me. I had already swapped the M disc into the dog statue, but at some point I took them both out and then died to the cat ghost. Now the regular disc is in the cat statue, and no M disc in the dog. So I can’t get the regular disc without triggering the ghost. I also am not sure if I somehow swapped it with something else or if it’s just a bug.

I don’t know what happened here, but I’m wondering if this is some bug too. I bought the Nintendo version. But I haven’t even been to the dog statue yet (or at least I don’t think so), as my understanding is that you have to go through the cat chase to get there.

This is a real bummer, though, and I’m thinking I may have to start a new game, which is extremely disappointing considering how much time I already have in it. I’ve long had the yo-yo already too, so I don’t know if I somehow did things “out of order” but that shouldn’t be an issue, which makes me wonder if there is some bug or something. There was a update for Nintendo version on Friday night, but I don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

Or maybe I’m just completely missing something and there is nothing wrong at all.

I’m also playing on Switch. Not sure if there’s anywhere official to report bugs to, but I’d love confirmation of whether or not it’s a bug. I’ve already seen the credits and I’m trying to collect everything, so I don’t want to have to restart.

After I had finished the dog shrine I wanted to experiment with the cat and see if it would scare away the chameleons or something, had to go get the m.disk back so I could reset the cats spawn back to the room above the egg room. But right after dying same thing happened, no m.disk at dog shrine or my inv, and the real disk is stuck in the cat shrine, summoning the ghost if I remove it.

Maybe there's a way to edit the game save to bring the disk back to your inv?
Or maybe we just sit around for an update?
I don't wanna restart either.

I looked in the community section of forums here and it looks like Billy confirmed this was a bug that was fixed on the Steam game at least. I replied to one of his comments asking about Nintendo patch but haven’t heard back just yet.

yesterday on switch was update (1.04) and the mock disck apperead in my inventory, so i guess the bug was fixed

I'm doing the super end game stuff searching for the bunny associated with the dog ghost statue and just realized that I must have died earlier in the same way - testing stuff with the ghost - and now the mock disc is no longer in the shrine *or* my inventory.
I've seen a bunch of people talking about how this was patched in the steam version of the game, but I'm completely up to date and I can't figure out a solution :(
