Strange pedometer item?

I happened to go back to the pedometer right when I was almost at 100k steps, and it rolled over to 0. I was then able to collect a bunch of odd items, ending with this very weird item with a nonsense name which doesn't appear anywhere in my inventory. Not sure what use this serves.

where the hell is the pedometer in the map? I can't find a single instance of someone on the internet saying where it is, all I could find was a screenshot of the room with it, which doesn't help

on the right side of the well, near the home and clock area, throw the top down and it will reveal a passage to the pedometer

Yeah, there's various figurines you can get (including the ones from the pedometer) which don't show up in the inventory. Instead, you'll see them in your house, if you look closely at the various shelves. Note that a few of the shelves are in the little vertical area leading to the office. They're saved outside your save slots, so every save will share the same pool of figurines.

The item I got wasn't a figurine, as far as I know. I got 2 figurines, and the third thing.

The strange text is unicode, it's part of a much larger ongoing puzzle that people over on the discord have mostly figured out. There are several more pieces of that weird text you can find across the game and honestly most of them are insanely difficult or convoluted to unlock. If you really want to know where it all leads, looking it up is probably your best bet. Solving it is possible for a single person on their own, but it is not recommended to do so. A lot of these post-post-game puzzles were quite literally designed to never be solved, and it took the community hundreds if not thousands of collective hours of brainstorming and experimentation to discover the solutions.

Well hey, I'm proud I got something so difficult to acquire. I feel pretty clever.
