M. Disc Room
How do you proceed from here? There's an empty slot that says "M. Disc" So obviously I'm supposed to get that. What is the M stand for? Where is it? This is the last flame I need.

Realistically, there are probably a half-dozen (or more) sensible routes, depending on how much of the map you've explored (the map is enormous with many unexpected ways to get around) or what items you currently have acquired.

I did the ghost dog chase after exploring large portions of the map and collecting several very helpful items, so by this point my muscle memory was good on the basic movement, I could effectively fly with the B. Wand, and I had revealed massive chunks of the map and found several other secret methods of travel which probably made it easier for me. I honestly felt like it was too easy, but maybe I'm weird.
It's as easy as you make it.

Tbh it's not that hard to juke around the cat. You can take some hits and eat fruit along the way if you're taking damage. Took me maybe a dozen tries. Its mostly about memorizing the route there and not getting lost.

No idea what would make you think that thing is a cat.

Dude grow up, seriously. That is the worst take I've ever seen in my entire 30 years of gaming. You're such a baby. Use the warp whistle, be proactive, not reactive.

Am i seriously the only person who had the brain capacity to basically get rid of the cat?
I solved this on my first try, by thinking about it for a grand total of half a second!
"Cat is annoying... but what if i just do this? Yep, works... cat is gone for the next minute!"

Also, watched someone do it without the remote... You KNOW you can do this last, right? Solving this puzzle gives you NOTHING until you solve all 4 flame puzzles.

If I, a 50yo woman who's ♥♥♥♥ at platforming can do it then you all can. You can get rid of the dog for almost the whole route, he only got to me at the last room. The only tools I used were flute, slinky and bubble.

There are two groups of people, those who love this part of the game, and those who hate this part of the game. The first group loves it because they've been paying attention to how the map works and have realized there's a way easier solution to the puzzle, and the other group hates it because they can't outsmart a pixelated dog lol

I'll add that you can pick up the remote before the run to make the last section nearly trivial.

Yall know you can go get the Mock Disc without being chased, drop down to the altar, take the disc and immediately replace it, right?

Like... You DON'T HAVE TO BE CHASED, you chose to do it that way.

That's getting the normal disc, putting the mock disc in it's place. Pretty sure you can't swap them back after, only take the mock disc.
You sound like you've barely started the game and don't know what puzzle this is about.

You should. This is the worst game design decision I've seen in a long time.

If I wasn't already past 2 hours I would refund it without hesitation.

This is just a git gud moment. I'm awful at vidya and I got past it, which means you can too.
Just because it's not something you can do in 5 tries or less doesn't mean it's impossible. There's also items that make it easier.

I also thought it was a cat. It looks pretty cat like, and it looks different than the dog ghosts.

Almost an hour of attempts but I finally got it. Section was a real PITA.
Anyways, I uploaded a clip of the successful run if anyone wants to watch for reference.

Thank you to everyone in the comments here that gave suggestions, such as tossing the distraction disk high enough that the dogs can't reach it. Helped a ton. 👍

how do you hop on the disc so easily?

lol that was complete accident, actually.
You don't need to hop on the disk anyways. Just toss it up high so the dogs can't reach it. They'll be stuck barking at it and'll let you pass by safely.

Or just use the flute method mentioned by others in this thread. It sounds like it's much easier as it cuts down half the route and puts a ton of distance between you and the ghost.
You don't have to get chased by the ghost dog at all for the basic play-through. Don't take the disc at first. After you have received the mock disc a bit later, you can simply switch it directly at the statue where the ghost dog appears. After putting the mock disc into the statue, the ghost dog will disappear immediately and you are able to keep the actual disc.

It even works with the second dog shrine (M. disc shrine), where you can put the mock disc in and then just get the actual disc without even triggering the ghost dog. I have done this in my playthrough and later on took the mock disc to the other shrine out of curiosity.
