Do I have to use a controller?

Will my experience be hindered if I use a keyboard, because I only have Switch Pro controller and for some reason the controls aren't matching what the game says they are. A/B and X/Y are swapped. I just started playing, the game told me to press A to wake up, I thought it was partly a cutscene or that it would take some time because nothing was happening, but my character was actually jumping as I kept pressing A. I had to press B. I woke up, this time the game told me to press B to jump. I press B, nothing happens. I press A, and my character jumps. From what I've seen from another post, the same thing is happening with X and Y. Changing the controller format and swapping the confirm/cancel doesn't fix this. No matter what I do it's A to jump and B to interact and the game says the opposite. I can't play the game like this, it's too confusing for me, but this is the only controller I have. Will I miss out on anything if I use a keyboard?

i am on keyboard and this is fine BUT be aware that you will need to use the arrow with your right hand to be ables to chose/switch items with your left hand, this is a little bit scuffed, but that work, don't use wasd for movement

edit: and we can't rebind control in this version of the game

how hard it is to get a used or cheap Logitech controller? Not everything has to be played with mouse and keyboard

I played through the entire game just fine with keyboard.

I don't think that a controller adds anything above a keyboard. I would even argue the keyboard provides finer control

This is something called 'accessibility'. What kind of guy are you to deny people the ability to play with whatever peripherals they want?
