K Medal Shards Soft Lock

Is anyone else having any issues with the k shards that drop from the kangaroos to form the k medal? It seems like you need it for something else later on, and to get that medal you have to scare the kangaroos using firecrackers. I never did that. When I saw them in a room, I left, went back in, and they were gone and never to be seen again. Therefore, they never dropped the shards and I can't seem to get them to spawn again.

Anyone else having this issue or, better yet, does anyone have solutions other than starting a new game?

The kangaroo cycles between certain rooms. If you trigger him in one room he will reappear in another next time.

Meanwhile for me I scared him third time and he seemed to drop the bag out of bounds or something. Now every time I find him and scare him again he doesn't drop the bag anymore... So I'm apparently forever stuck at 2/3 shards... So that's great...

I have the same problem. Maybe there is a way to hard reset the offscreen drop.

Found out what happened, turns out the bag spawned in one of the rooms above the one where I scared him the third time. Try looking around in all the adjacent rooms if you still remember where it happened.

This was it for me - THANK YOU. For me it spawned in a hidden chest area in a different room so I didn't initially see it anywhere. Rough.

Having the same issue. I’ve checked all the adjacent rooms…nothing. Stuck on 2/3s and feeling like I’m just out of luck. What a bummer.

The kangaroo appears in five different rooms and cycles through all of them, not appearing in a previous room until he's been in all five rooms. After that it seems to be random and he'll change places every couple of minutes.

Also! Something I learned yesterday. If you scare the kangaroo with the firecracker to get him to drop the shard and then leave the room, the shard will change locations. I've seen people say it moves to adjacent rooms, but when I lost a kangaroo shard I found it inside the kangaroo room, but hidden inside a secret passage. So check around!

I have the same problem. Maybe I lost the third in the dog statue room but can't find it... Is there secret area?

I figured it out. We have three pieces, but we can place each piece separately in the Disc. If your kangaroo is not dropping, it is because you've already placed one or two pieces. Enjoy!!

This a late comment too, but I found out that it looked like I only had 2/3 pieces visually, but when I went to put them in, it acted like I had all 3.
