it is just a great puzzle/metroidvania game. it is chock full of secrets to find.
think 'Environmental Station Alpha' level of post game secrets.

Wonderful, Billy nailed the feeling of getting lost, trying all sorts of things and then finally finding that next item that makes the world make sense. This feeling was missing in a lot of vanias i tried over the last few years.

I combed the reviews and it looks like if its for you its made for you and if its not your cup of tea you're going to be extremely adverse to it. If you dont want to explore a metroidvania world in 2d and find hidden secrets and do puzzles its probably not for you. There is no shovel knight/Hollow knight esque combat, its problem solving and world exploration heavy. Some people seemed to be upset about how it looks on certain resolutions. there is no keybind changing supported in the game (steam and 3rd party apps have workarounds). The praise is heavy, the negatives are short. Try it, steam has a super generous refund policy.

Game's 40% exploration, 20% backtracking, 20% getting lost and wondering where to go, and 20% wondering if you're missing some ability or upgrade or you are just misunderstanding a puzzle. Some people enjoy this kind of thing. You know if you're one of them.

The reviews I saw said its only about 5-6 hours to credits, and the extra hours are just collecting everything. That can be amazing for some people, and absurd for others.

I found Environment Station Alpha not exactly my cup of tea but this one has more puzzles and therefore I like it much more. Not sure yet how deep the well goes but I'm hoping for some really obscure stuff.

It's fantastic. Excellent exploration and puzzle solving, unique tools and ways to use them, wonderful atmosphere.

Favorite game of 2024 so far definitely.
